[CYOA] Ryoji Kaji's Fantabulous World of Suck

You are Ryoji Kaji. You are in the prime of your life, in which case it would be tragic if you were to be shot. Your profession is "secret agent" and you are attempting to triple cross the JSDF, an underground mad science pyramid, and a death cult that owns all of the banks. This increases...

Re: [Literature] Currently Reading (discussion)

Taking a serious crack at Deleuze's Cinema duology after a couple of past very not-serious cracks. It's a much different reading experience from the Capitalism and Schizophrenia books insofar as it actually tries to explain dense-as-hell concepts in clear language as opposed to the complete insanity...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

It's going to be satisfying watching our generation's smug nostalgia evaporate once the first grandkid says "What the hell is a Nintendo 64?" followed by "Wow that's soooooo like retarded" and then uploads his consciousness to the Master Brain to tweet his high score on the Oculu...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

You know, I think I'm just gonna pre-empt every possible negative view I could express in this thread just by saying that anime in general needs an enema.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread

Fucking hell, Boulez and Bowie within less than a week of each other? Already 2016 can screw itself.

I mean, Boulez I saw coming because the guy was seriously getting up there, but Bowie? Bowie seemed like he had at least another decade, which made it that much of a gut punch. Damn.

Re: Happy Christmas Season!

Dear Santa,

All I want is a BR box of Musashi Gundoh that I can just beam directly into my skull, so whenever I'm feeling down DJ Kentaro and ULTRA BRAiN can tell me to stand up for tomorrow

Regards,

I gotta wonder how many optimists gave Hitler the ol' "Believe in yourself and think positive!" spiel when he was a kid.

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions

The one episode of Arise I saw felt like a greatest-hits parade of the entire franchise as a whole and if that one episode is any indication, the franchise has finally lost its freshness. But I'm a prematurely cynical bastard who hates fun, so I'm probably wrong and suck at least 30 dicks in stating...

This is how Neon Genesis Evangelion ends in my headcanon. It's a week after the end of ep. 24. In the days after the death of the final Kaworu, there have been mysterious death murders all over Nerv: the body count is up to 1 million. Ritsuko is standing among the bodies all over the cafeteria a...

If I ever turn into one of those de-fanged, sad suburban animals whose idea of a night is a 7 PM parcheesi game while blithering about their 401k, you will all have permission to kill me. The faster the better.

I want there to be a shonen series where the stereotypically dumb protagonist actually gets utterly destroyed due to not being especially smart and relying soley on WILL POWAH

That scene gets infinitely better if you play Scarface (Push It to the Limit) over it.

70 pages into Gramophone, Film, Typewriter and it's pretty easy to tell which parts Kittler wrote while stoned out of his mind.

A little Imaishi goes a long way for me, tbh. Dead Leaves is great, but I burned out on Gurren Lagan after the beginning of the 2nd half, and I felt like I got the point of Kill la Kill after two episodes. Mainly because I'm a grumpy, joy-hating cynic. Totally unrelated, but Interlude is like if...
