1) What do you think a sequel or loop would add to series, thematically?

2) Do you think Anno is a shit writer?

He's definitely lying by omission. There's a lot of shit Shinji should have been aware of before embarking on their little doomsday mission. How much of the lying being intentionally malicious though is yet to be determined. I don't buy "evil Kaworu" but I don't think he's some perfect lit...

I don't see how Kaworu fighting Shinji is anything but expected. I'm just surprised they gave it away in the trailer.

It'd be total character assassination to have Asuka still feel something for Shinji after 14 years though. A few of Mari's lines towards Asuka regarding Shinji hints that we're missing a big chunk of context, true, but if they even remotely go down that route I hope to God it's not at the expense of...
