I feel that Metal Black manages to be remarkably Evalike despite being a shmup (thus, absolute minimal storytelling) and having been released 4 years prior to Eva's airing. It's one of the few shmups I can think of where the situation seems hopeless due to aliens having already ruine...

I really enjoyed Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls despite being just another generic harem show. The artstyle and music both sold me on it and I still listen to the OST every now and then. I also enjoyed Nazo Kanojo X for the same reason.

Been a longtime Eva fan of 7 years but for some reason never really discussed it much. Decided to make that change now, right after I re-watch it sometime this upcoming year to refresh my memory. In the meantime, yo!
