Well, as it turns out, I looked over my schedule again and I'm able to retract my former statement. Would it be alright for me to forget my previous character and make a new one?

Regrettably, I don't think I'll be able to join in on this after all. I've been swamped with assignment after assignment from my college classes, and I hardly have any time to myself for a while. So I'm really sorry, but I'll have to drop out.
