Re: Anime you loved but now hate(and other ways your tastes changed)
Dragon Ball Z : This case is pretty typical. Has a kid I watched DBZ, like every other kid my age did back then, and loved it. When I finally sat down to properly re watch it years later I found it so dull. Every action took forever and most of the battles weren't nearly has interesting has I remem...

Gonna try to post a bit more. I'm surprised the Off Topic thread hasn't been more active since there must be so many new evageeks! Oh well! Shout out to ...

Re: Imaishi and Nakashima are back - Promare
I got to see Promare last night, and it was a real treat. Definitely worth seeing in the theater since there's so much craziness and color and typical Trigger stuff flying across the screen. I was legit thinking during the movie how much would be lost when I watch on my little tv at my apartment, ha...

http://thumbs2.imagebam.com/95/8d/a9/cd8ed11097060494.jpg Nice one, haha. I'll be watching that Magical Girl Spec Ops Asuka this season, though it has a pretty terrible English title. It seems to be typical seinen stuff so far, terrible animation and all. I'm not expecting for this one to blow my m...

Re: [Sports] Who's your team?
It's pretty cool that no matter who wins tomorrow the Super Bowl should be pretty fun to watch. I'm predicting a Pats v. Saints match up, but I wouldn't mind a Rams v. Chiefs game either. I like TB12, but I don't need to see them in every damn Super Bowl, and I like Mahomes since he seems to play wi...

Jags over the Steelers- Bortles will have the game of his life, then lose next week and fall off in 2018. This made me lol.... I guess I know more about sports than I thought. Anyway, the divisional playoffs are usually my favorite sports weekend of the year, but this time I'm still a little bummed...

I'm enjoying Jojo: Golden Wind quite a bit. I love the characters and their designs, and I like the stands so far. I wasn't that crazy about the first 2/3 of Diamond is Unbreakable , though I enjoyed the ending quite a bit. Too many weird stands that I didn't really understand(though that's probably...

People will be negative about anyyyyything.
Ive been loving SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Gridman so far. Both eps were a treat to watch; love the backgrounds with the giant kaiju off in the distance.

Caught Night is Short, Walk on Girl in the theatres last night. It was packed with people, I was like wtf? Anyway, the movie was a lot of fun; the animation was beautiful and there were a lot of good jokes. Obviously it was a bit like The Tatami Galaxy , but this one focuses more on the girl, and I ...

In my rewatch of Eureka SeveN I have just overtaken you :) Is this your first full rewatch of it? The first time I watched it I really liked it, but then with my rewatch it became a favorite of mine. That Joy Division line is still one of my favorites in anime. It's such a nice length too; it's lon...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions
Visual Arts Key/P. A. Works totally sucks at making anime. I think you're mostly just thinking of Key shows. The only series those two works on together were Angel Beats! and Charlotte. Ive always loved Angel Beats (that OP!) but Charlotte was definitely strange. I don't think it really knew what i...

Re: What directors would you like seeing tackle Evangelion in the future?
That'd be cool if Tomino did a version of the series but I could imagine it being absolutely nuts.
Tsurumaki would be a great choice too. Yuasa of course as well, though I imagine his would be even stranger than Tomino's somehow...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now
I just got finished with a rewatch of Orange , which I really liked when it was broadcast back in 2016 and which I still really like. There were just a couple things this watching made me wonder; a. why did they have to include the thing about the squad sending their letters to the Bermuda Triangle?...

Re: Controversial Anime Opinions
Overall I think Mamoru Hosoda & his films are mildly overrated. I'd say this is indeed very true, but I think being overrated is a bit of a part of the territory if you're a big name anime director and it's less their fault than people who don't really watch too much anime putting these guys on...

Re: Darling in the Franxx (Studio Trigger)
Evangelion and Gundam weren't about the robots, but they sure were a part of story! Not here. This was probably my least favorite thing about the series(except for the aliens) and one of the reasons why NGE is the GOAT; the shows main allure to (most) true fans is the psychological shit but in NGE ...

Grant Morrison confirmed for Green Lantern from November: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/07/19/dc-grant-morrison-green-lantern-liam-sharp/ This sounds like it could be pretty cool, like it could be a True Detective- esque take on old GL. Reminds me a bit of the political stuff they were doing wi...
