Re: Evasophy - A to be 5 part evangelion analysis featuring philosophers such as Hegel, Stirner, Freud, Zivek and more

In my not-so-humble opinion, these videos are not interesting. The thinkers analized are well-known and their presentation is superficial, with the result of maximum boredom. It is apparent that there is no direct knowledge of the works of the authors but just of readings by others (see Zizek). Mor...

Re: The Vatican Treaty is still in effect.

It's also hardly surprising that any group would be hypocritical in how it lets another handle what basically amounts to a WMD. Imagine how the U.S. would react to Iran working on WMDs, they'd get nuked in a heartbeat.

Re: The idea of a timeloop

"They" are callbacks and references, but "they" are not. Virtually any remake or rehash is going to have inevitable callbacks and references and this is no exception. But those are separate from the signs that point to some sort of time loop. The most obvious being "This tim...

What is romantic involvement? Does it have to involve sex? Do you have to at least claim ownership over one another on facebook? Or is there something to be said for people who like and are attracted to eachother?

Re: Grave markers at the end of EoE?

Those can't be grave markers, there was nobody to set them up. They are there before Shinji and Asuka wake up and they're the first ones to wake up. It could be leftover design, but that leftover design can't really be thought of as what it was originally. In the end, they're just telephone poles or...

Re: Why do Evas even use firearms if they don't work?

Even if they weren't useful vs. the Angels, they would've been damn useful against the Seele invasion. You know, if the Evas were actually able to be used at the time.

Re: Pen-Pen's Nature

Was it ever stated in Neon Genesis that he had forgotten he was a witness? I know in New Theatrical, during the shogi scene, Fuyutsuki mentions that Shinji's "memories have since been erased" No way, that's some special bullshit concocted for the New Theatrical. Or not, we'll see where th...

Jerry gave Beth an ultimatum and she chose Rick, that only takes a few minutes to settle however you wanna look at it. Whether Beth made a reasonable choice is up for debate. She was as ready as Jerry to kick him out in Ep.1 but now everyone just accepts shes damaged and has unconditional love for h...

Re: The Satire of Evangelion

Motivate SOME character feelings, that's what I meant. The mecha fights are not a vehicle to the plot, at least not as a Mecha show is, but just one element. A very important element sometimes, like in the case of Asuka and Shinji, but there are so many important elements in the show, what encompas...

Re: Do you think Anno did drugs?

Considering what a huge percentage of artists we know of admitting to illegal drugs influencing their art, I'd say I think yes he probably did as well. Whether that means he just smoked some pot, had one good trip or was constantly tripping I won't speculate on, any of those options seem possible.

Alarmist alarms always attempt at alarming audiences. It always makes me chuckle a bit whenever one of my friends are all like “Feminism is a scourge that should be driven from our land!” and then binge-watch and praise Miyazaki films and their messages. Usually its the term they find egregious, wh...

Fan response is meaningless. Most of the greatest things in this world are unknown or hated. That said, I have no interest in DB.
