Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

Watching From Software's Rise and Fall in Gamer Appreciation in real time is fascinating. Sony paid Bluepoint games to remake Demon's Souls. FromSoftware had nothing to do with this. They're currently developing Elden ring, which I'm looking forward to. Speaking of Demon's Souls remake, I've watche...

Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiqGi3GMTko Demon's Souls Remake gameplay trailer came out and it's overall worse than I expected. I only liked how short the loading screens were, critical animations and how the tutorial teaches the player about vaulting whereas in the original you could only figur...

Re: Do people still hate Evangelion 3.33?

I think the general audience has warmed up to the movie over the years, but if Final manages to tie things up and make a satisfying conclusion (Conclusion that fits Eva), then Q will be seen in a much better light.

Re: You Never See Anything Just Once - NTE Edition

Well, that's not so much as misunderstanding as Kaworu mislead him and told him that's what happened. It's a misunderstanding based on false or incomplete information. Holy shit, I didn't notice how the animation styles for 1.0/Jo and 2.0/Ha changed. And here I thought it was just Q/3.0 that went t...

Re: You Never See Anything Just Once - NTE Edition

^ Man, that's a pretty big misunderstanding by Shinji in 3.0, he thinks she hates him for destroying the world that he may have not even destroyed in the first place, while Misato acts this way because of the post-3I war and not wanting Shinji to pilot because both him and Eva can be dangerous to hi...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

and 13 was all sorts of stuff going on that could cause this I would love to hear an alternative theory since all visuals in the two movies point to white glow being related to core material. In 3.0, 02 loses it's arm when it's in contact with 01 who is now made of core and 08 loses both it's arms ...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

I've never heard this idea before. Why do you think the white glow means "core"? The reason why I think the white glow is the same as red core, except more intense, is that when Unit-08 grabs onto Unit-13, it's arms start to deteriorate the same way as when Unit-00 grabbed the core of Sah...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Just realized that EVA-13 turns red for a split second before becoming a Radiant Giant. Maybe there is something to this Urizen after all. Unit-13 turns red for a second because it's whole body is becoming core material (It's white appearance soon after is just more intense version of core material...

Re: How come there hasn't been any sort of introspection in the Rebuilds?

These new movies are mostly focused on showing things in real life instead of long, surreal dialogue/monologue heavy scenes of the original. Although, Shinji has few train sequences similar to NGE, Rei Q has identity crisis and questions her nature, but it happens in real life. Same thing with Asuka...

Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

I'd rather they had just done a straight port to other consoles. Yeah, I would have preferred this too. I do try to enjoy the game (If I end up buying it at some point that is) as it's own unique experience alongside the original and don't view it as something that is trying to replace or improve u...

Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

Unfortunately I agree with you in pretty much everything you said. The change in architecture is the most nonsensical to me. I've seen people in the net arguing that this is somehow the "true vision" they wanted back then, like Gothic arches and vegetation were some impossible thing to do...

Re: Souls Series (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TMs2E6cms4 I do not like the upcoming Demon's Souls Remake at all. The game is too colorful and it lacks bloom effect that gave the impression that Boletaria was being consumed by the fog. Architecture has been changed from early medieval norman architecture to late...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Ah, okay. Since this thread is partially about which Eva units/pilots are specific Adams, do you think that units-00, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 08 are related to certain "Adam-units" or pilots (Mari, Eva-05 and 08 seems to have some similarities to Mark.06 based on the image you provided) or are ...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

I threw together a compilation of visual comparisons between Mari, Eva-05, and Mark.05 (guest-starring the Spear of Cassius, Eva-08, and Lilith). This would have been useful earlier in the thread, when I matched the pilots to their respective Adams, but better late than never, I suppose. The Lilith...

Re: End of Evangelion Traumatized Me

Eva 3.0 had similar effects on me, it completely shocked me to the core when I saw it for the first time as a teenager, but it never made me this suicidal. You should go to a therapist.

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!

Yeah, but when does that ever happen? I can't think of a single time a bad game was remade. I think a remake of a mediocre/bad game can happen only if it's part of successful franchise. The original Nier had pretty mediocre gameplay, but it is basically getting a remake (or remake-lite) due to Auto...

I guess the only way to not make a remake seem lazy and cash grab is to remake something that was mediocre or bad to begin with.

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!

I haven't played Resident Evil, but the story seems to be the part people remember (plus the athmosphere, etc). People play Resident evil for the atmosphere and gameplay. Resident evil 3 remake cut few areas, gameplay mechanics, puzzles, costumes, branching choices, endings and few other things. St...

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!

^ This is the same mentality that applauses Anime adaptations of Manga for basically using the Manga as storyboards. The staff has to decide what makes sense in a new version of the game. The old version still exists. The fact that they cut certain parts is not a problem in itself. I don't know...T...
