Re: [SPOILER] Our Mistake with 2.0 and 3.0 as post-EoE ficti

I think this is an excellent, provocative analysis of the entirety of Evangelion. Congratulations - as of now, you have written the most interesting thing about 3.0 in English on the internet. However, and no, I'm not talking about sequel theory nonsense. Almost lost me at the beginning. Having ...

I absolutely love when Asuka drags Shinji. It's incredibly moving. It conjures up the same feeling as when he chokes her, and she reaches out and strokes his cheek instead.

[SPOILERS] References and Echoes in 3.0 to Other Things

My favorite scenes in 3.0, which to me recalled Shinji and Asuka's video game sync training, were the scenes between Shinji and Kaworu, harmoniously playing the piano together. There was something to these scenes that gave me a sense of awe - the amazing computer-assisted piano animation, the mu...

LOL, that's why I'm blaming the Japanese in this case. Doesn't anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable when an audience claps at a blank screen?

I just want to clarify that I don't, like, intend to disrupt the harmony of what Lili has been kind enough to do for these forums. I know that I'm prone to error. Even if I'm way off base, let's not forget that ROE is, like NGE before it, not a black-and-white endeavour. Even if my e...

Could be. But looked very, very human to me. I'll have to watch it again!

^ Probably there were some Americans in the theatre, they started clapping LOL, actually, I was the sole American, or at least white person, at the 8:45PM show. It was the Japanese clapping, I promise! (The other Japanese people around me just started excitedly asking each other, "What the...

[SPOILERS] Remake / Sequel Discussion

I just got back from EVA 3.0 and, while my Japanese is by no means fluent, I'm pretty confident that, in a discussion between Shinji and Kaoru, descending below the Geofront, Kaoru confirms the suspicion that ROE is a sequel. He says something to the effect of this (third impact) having ...

There were a few gasps during the showing I attended, but they gave way to some clapping when the film was over. In Japan, clapping at a theater? It happened. Awesome.

i loved it

from the first frame, the film went in a completely unexpected direction. it had a different vibe to it than anything eva-related that has come before - and i'm still processing that change. the themes are all there. the characters are true to the characters. but the locations, the timeframe, th...
