Mari and Asuka being sisters certainly would...complicate that particular branch of shipping. Anyways, I feel like the person in the photo is more likely related to Mari, simply because Asuka in this timeline doesn't have any need to be tied up with the origins of the Evangelion project...

I honestly cannot figure out who this woman is supposed to be based on the visual cues. She's too close to both Mari and Asuka. Similarities to Asuka: -Red hairpiece -Similar hairstyle Similarities to Mari: -Red glasses -Pink and white clothing, same color as Mari's plugsuit Similarities to ...

I know its been talked about a lot already, but I still can't buy the idea of Mari eating and drinking in her entry plug. I understand that LCL acts as a conduit to allow any Eva pilot to breath more efficiently and become better synchronize with the unit. Newborn babies can apparently swim and...

I wouldn't go as far as saying that a yuri relationship between Mari and Asuka is more likely than an Asuka/Shinji one (maybe a friendship, but judging from the preview it didn't really seem like Mari cared that much about her) I wouldn't necessarily say that the preview shows u...

It's weird because as soon as she sees him...she punches the armored glass that separates them, remarking about how that was for 14 years of Grief, and Anger. Later, when she's talking to Mari about him the translation makes her sound like a normal tsundere with unresolved feelings. And, th...

If you're stuck with a teenage body, you're stuck with a teenage brain. They're not mentally adults. The "character" of their dialogue pretty much confirms this, too. Eh, that's fair, but 14 years of life experience is still 14 years of life experience even if your brain i...

As long as Asuka and Mari have aged mentally there's really no point getting too agitated that they still look like 14-year-olds. The important thing is that they're adults, even if they don't look it.

"Eva is a story of repetition" was always taken out of context badly. I think people are probably jumping the gun just a bit with the Ishida interview. (What's it from? The movie book?) But what else is new? Mostly I think it's valuable as a source for cementing Kaworu'...

Translations done by /a/ of an interview with Kaworu's seiyuu contain this sentence: How should Nagisa Kaworu be after he's accumulated several different cycles in his past? If this is true, that's VERY strong evidence in favor of the sequel theory, and we're in for one hell of a wil...

Well, technically there is the one phone conversation in 3.0 in which only Mari is in the entry plug... the one in which they talk about Shinji, and Mari is making light fun of Asuka in a way that seems to imply some degree of friendship-intimacy. Really digging the Asuka-Mari partnership, definite...

Wasn't that just because it was really cold? Or did she do it in other places besides the IPEA shelter?

Are people actually surprised that Mari would eat and drink in the entry plug? She's practically an LCL junkie. I would not be at all surprised if she likes the taste. Like seasoning, y'know? Really hoping 3.0 CRC goes into some of this stuff (Mari or otherwise). Or we're given s...

I'm quite curious as to whether this seeming Angelic infection is specifically the reason that Asuka calls WILLE "Lilim". Maybe only she, and not the other pilots, is blurring the boundaries of humanity? That said, I expect that whatever the problem is, she's got it under control; ...

Is the father-son relationship drama gone? I was under the impression that Shinji spends a good deal of time at NERV with Gendo in 3.0.

Umm...would you rather have her missing an eye? I'd rather have her missing an eye than have the eye she allegedly lost to Angel-inflicted injuries glowing the color of that Angel's blood, yes. I don't think I need to explain why her eye glowing the color of Bardiel's infection is w...

Ah, awesome! The pins are a really cool little detail for backstory. Pity they couldn't have given their friendship any actual focus beyond a subtle hint like that, though. Yeah, I hope for a more in-depth examination of their relationship in 4.0, especially since it'd be an effective way s...

I like this as a theory, but I'm not sure what the second pin is. ( picture ) Asuka is represented by a skull with an eyepatch, and Mari is represented by a blue and red.... nipple? :ehh: As Mr. Tines said, it's an RAF symbol, and Mari is British. People have been jumping all over t...

Beast Mode Asuka is indeed every bit as terrifying as Beast Mode Mari. Really hoping we see a simultaneous Dual Beast Mode in 4.0.

The fact that Asuka's covered eye is glowing blue is rather worrying, to say the least.

It's far too late in the story for flashback storms, so I'm really wondering what they're gonna do - I just hope that this is Mari's mother, and that Mari herself will join the three children and interact with Shinji in a meaningful way - they seemed like such an interesting combina...
