REQUEST: "Evangelion PianoForte #1" Sheet Music Scans/PDF
Hello, There is a sheet music collection for Eva songs with jazz stylings. I consider it to be the most high quality sheet music for a lot of Eva tracks. https://www.play-asia.com/evangelion-piano-forte-1-official-music-score-book/13/70dlz7 It's out of print and on ebay its going for $400+ for a use...

Re: The Last Train Station Scene
I rather think that the final scene is highly symbolic and the multiple interpretations I have seen people trying to derive from it is the aesthetic clue. There's obviously an intended meaning behind the train station scene (I only 50% subscribe to the Death of the Author, fricking Post-modernism) ...

Re: The possible meta-commentary of Asuka's NTE backstory
I think at least PART of it is that Anno was trying to get away from the "moms in the core" lore which is no longer relevant in NTE, but was an extremely critical part of Asuka's original personality arc. Also, the movies didn't divert enough time for Asuka to have that kind of arc (plus 1...

Re: Why Shinji and Mari DID NOT end up as a couple: Explained
I mean, the obvious flirting between the two through dialogue and gestures and the fact that they hold hands at the end (And One last kiss soundtrack) is more than proof that they entered a relationship sometime after the events of the movie. I'm not sure if I'm mis-understanding what you wrote, bu...

Really great to see that the reddit OP has joined here. Thanks for your input as well as UrsusArctos follow up. I feel like we're coming very close to an interpretation that makes me feel satisfied.

Re: The Last Train Station Scene
It's definitely a confidence booster that other people are arriving at the same conclusions I did with a lot of the same data. I have to agree with most of what is in that reddit thread. One thing I was hoping to see there (since I don't have it either) is what the point is. Why is it important that...

Re: The origin of the Evangelions and their souls
Let me tell one thing: We don't even know what evangelion is in the movies. You get mark.04 that is an eva, but the arms apparently are not, since in the fuck all evas scenes they werent present, even the whole mark.4 family was, same with mark seven. what is the materials of an eva? we have no clu...

Re: A little question for non-supporters of "Sequel Theory"
There's no coherent argument that NTE comes chronologically after NGE. As others have pointed out, the internal logic of the entire universe do not align which Shinji would have no motivation in tampering with. The only real argument you could make is that Shinji resets the world over and over and i...

Re: The Last Train Station Scene
Rei being one soul among many bodies would explain why she has a different clone character arc than Asuka, who is more traditional "survival of the fittest test subjects which each their own 'soul'" whereas Rei is interchangeable.

Re: New people vs. new world
I think it's safe to say the Dub is not canon due to all the mistakes it has. I'm obviously biased because I don't like the dub, but even with English subtitles miss some nuances that I think dedicated fan subbers would have caught. The dub is just flat out wrong in many places.

Re: NTE as a clear message plus embellishment
Just to be clear: I'm not talking about inconsistencies, but stuff that has been added because it's cool, and there's no underlying explanation that actually connects all of it. Like the Nebuchadnezzar's Key, the walking failures of infinity, the third angel being kept alive, the in-orbit EVA-01. I...

Re: The Last Train Station Scene
Agreed with the above, especially that "it's complicated." It makes no sense for Rei to have the tsubame doll, except in some kind of implication that she understands or is aware of the village experiences. But it's clearly Rei II.

Re: The Music of 3.0+1.0
The Joy To The World scene didn't have nearly the same emotional impact on me as the Ode To Joy during did during the original series or 3.33. All the pieces were there for it to have the same impact, it happened during a heavy climactic scene, it was used to progress the plot and the themes of the...

That's not the interpretation I want when I say I love my mother. The word can describe all kinds of relationships and feelings. True. However, when two not related people use the word "love", the main interpretation is romantic. It's extremely unlikely to use the word "love&...

The translation isnt't good for that line. It could easily and more accurately be translated as "Now, I won't cry."

Re: Do I just not understand Mari's point?
Mari's entire point is metafictional. She's there as a stand-in for Moyoco Anno, guiding Shinji (Hideaki Anno) to a happier state of being. Except, you know, Anno forgot to give his wife's representation any character development. This is a cop out. Although she obviously is a metafictional charact...

Re: The Last Train Station Scene
The one thing that still leans me towards “the pilots (except Shikinami) are all living in the new world” is the presence of Kaji alongside Kaworu. Kaji had something to do with stopping 3rd impact during the 14 year time skip. It's possible his soul is also trapped in there, though I agree it make...

Re: Compatibility Pilot/Core in Rebuild Or How Mari used unit 2?
I definitely think Original Asuka wasn't inside Eva-13 in Q. I agree with that. I think Original Asuka was a failed pilot (based on the screengrab of her testing performance during Asuka's instrumentality scenes) and was "processed" by NERV due to being a failure. I think it stands to rea...
