Re: Comic Books!
Man, I've really fallen behind with my comics. I was halfway through Doomsday Clock and Heroes in Crisis when I stopped, randomly, and I think that was early/mid-last year. I have something of a small backlog to get through as well.

Really exciting news, finally. Hopefully Madman will pick up the Australian release for this. Been waiting years to get NGE on Blu-ray replete with both subs and dub.

Just popping in to point out that Wake Up, Ikari! got a new chapter the other day, after what must be close to six or seven years (maybe more): https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5371936/5/Wake-up-Ikari I'll have to re-read it again soon. Love Arkiel's/Mustachioed Cat's stuff and this one was my very favo...

Man, the King of the Monsters trailer is awesome, it's really looking like the film I'm hoping it will be. Hyped for some super-cute Mothra moments. Also, I like the shot of Rodan's air wake completely leveling entire city blocks, reminds me of the imagery of the nuclear bomb shockwave hitting the h...

Re: Comic Books!
Just hope they don't do a Hal origin story... Nah, I doubt it. Morrison doesn't do much ongoing stuff these days, and he wouldn't have taken the job unless he has a good story or something he really wants to do. Given that, we'll probably also get something DC cosmology defining alongside this beat...

New Deafheaven is out ; it's great, as to be expected of one of the bands that have become one of my evergreen favorites, a la Converge, Interpol, Deftones, Radiohead, et cetera. It's heavy but never becomes overly taxing to listen to, almost lite instead, much like Roads to Judah but more melodic ...

Playing Nioh. This game is fucking hard and I love it. Just made it to the Kansai region. Favourite part so far is fighting/duelling Revenants.

New analysis from Rikdad on the latest Doomsday Clock issue: http://rikdad.blogspot.com/2018/06/doomsday-clock-5.html Always love reading this guy's thoughts, he always manages to make me see an issue or story in a new light and appreciation. True? Didn't like it, or just got sidetracked? I read the synopsis and I thought it sounded like Perfect Blue with cyberpunk/sci-fi, which struck me as my kind of thing. Keen to hear your thoughts (minus spoilers, of course).

Finished Karamazov last night. Loved every page of it, and even though it's a long book, I wanted just a little bit more, to see the final outcomes of Ivan and Dmitry. What I didn't expect, and what I enjoyed the most, was the fictions-within-fictions element; such as the Grand Inquisitor poem told ...

Equatorial jungle inhabitant here. Sure, the heat and oppressive humidity can go beyond nightmarish in summer, but it pays off bigtime in the winter months, or what we just call the "dry season" (we don't get true winters, after all), as it's 4 months or more of perfect, beautiful weather....

Finished my replay of 7. I was going to get into detailed thoughts but Monk's post further up pretty much hits the nail on the head for me, almost word-for-word. The beginning of the game is great - exploring the house and other early moments, the atmosphere is superb - but the Baker family are just...

Re: Share your Dreams (Part 2)
Dreams are fucking weird. Just last night I had a sequel dream, of sorts, to one I had years ago; my second encounter with a made-up fellow by the name of Peter Žižek, recounting his obtuse and Odyssean story of an antique quilt, and all the proverbial shit and trouble that came with it, e.g. someth...

I was the same, Joy; RE2 was a massive game for me when I was younger. I could only rent a copy for the longest time and it wasn't enough, so I had to read about it vicariously in gaming magazines (geez, remembering that they were still relevant back then) and squeeze details out of my friends at sc...
