Re: FML general thread [7]

If by living situation you mean getting out of the house/living by myself, i have been working on that finishing high school and getting some specializations/trainings on the side throught a goverment initiative as well as trying to break into freelance writing to sustain myself, latter takes a lot ...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

Glad to hear the doctor gave the best news possible, Hodges. On-topic: As bad as these recent situations have been there are still spots of good times chirping in occasionally. Specifically, my mother and sister will be leaving to Bonito (a really nice tourist spot in Brazil my mother has been wanti...

Re: FML general thread [7]

Many things have happened since my last post on the maid situation which the mods so helpfully deleted. Long story short most of it has been solved by now but there's one big sticking point remaining, in that we pawned some stuff i had and the contract i hoped would be one month turned out to be one...

Re: Only in Japan...

What's the point in getting angry man? It's not implying the Holocaust didn't happen or that Hitler was cool, and this isn't even some official endorsement made by Abe or something... just some silly vocaloid made by who knows for who knows what (publicity) reason.

Re: Only in Japan...

The lyrics are even more insane than the video would hint at, believe it or not. The person who did the rough translation also noted that surprisingly the lyrics made no mention of Jews, just some nonsensical lyrics about how Communism is scary and Democracy doesn't work but NationalSocialism is rat...

Re: [News] strange happenings of 2015

For the record we often (in Asuncion) have damnificados aproximately every year as their houses are set near enought the shore to be affected by the natural increase/decrease of the river's water level, however the fuckhuge amount of storms we're getting as well as alleged opening of Brazil/Argentin...

Re: Do you think Anno did drugs?

You know i always did joke that the climax of the Komm Susser Todd scene (all the girls saying "I hate you, die," and stuff like that) was like someone injecting LSD straight into your eyeballs, or that the KST scene was sort of distilling an hallucinogenic experience to film in a way i wo...

http://i.imgur.com/dDA9u8f.jpg Something mildly analogous happened during the Stroessner dictatorship in Paraguay. Specifically during elections for anything from mayor to president (wchih he won for 8 times in a row) it was customary for all polling stations to be crowded by colorado henchmen/part...

Re: Star Wars

I don't feel like saying anything particular. it was an ok movie, the production values were good and in particularities it was pretty good (should be, with a budget like that), but i fear it revitalized my distaste for Hollywood. We simply want very different things out of film, and i feel they are...

I don't really want to start any shit with this but you'll just have to trust me on that. Now, here's something that i don't get and this goes not just recently but to all people going "oh x was so crappy" etc. What exactly is it that drives you to say that? What thought processes or decis...

Re: Digibro's "Who Is Hideaki Anno?"

He's somewhat funny to watch in a superficial and vaguely entertaining manner, but i don't make myself any illusions about the Reddit-tier of his opinions. His critical observations are extremely superficial and just what i'd expect of a geek. The way he presents his arguments isn't particularly dee...

FWIW i can kinda understand Reichu's angle on remaining culturally loyal so to say, specially as i like Japanese culture as well. Learning about other cultures is not only enriching but fun, and i think it is noted and appreciated by people of said cultures, specially in these days of rampant cultur...

TRAITOR *spins* Btw on Rey pulling jedi tricks out of nowhere, she just knew i guess. I haven't seen the original trilogy but from what i've heard the force was more of this pervasive spiritual power somewhat analogous to Buddhist enlightement than midiclorian power-level, so i suppose it's not too ...
