Looking at the artwork and what supposedly happens in the film, I feel like Anno's gone: "You know what? I'm bored of EVA. Lets do something else." I was fine with the films branching off from the original story but it feels like it's branched off so much that it's starting...

Anyone feel like this is starting to loose all meaning, and that it's just filling up with desperate excuses to justify continuity errors.

It's because it's continuing on from the series, to keep the continuity. Rebuild is a completely different kettle of fish. He’s taking what he liked from the series and putting it into the new films, making it into something new.

Which is why Rei spends 2 minutes of the film clothed and the other 90 minutes butt naked. Not to mention the blood oceans, the more visable strangulation scenes and Shinji's 'session' with Asuka.
Don't know if I should include Unit 02's mutilation as well.

I can't remember the shot vividly but wern't the gulls flying away from her? The reflection looks like they're flying towards her; or have I just gone mad?

That's probably wishful thinking I'm against it as well but we all know how 'persistent' Kaworu is around Shinji. :wink: This is just a theory but... I think at some point in the third film... They're going to kiss! >_< I still cannot help but wonder at Kaworu's Shinjiphilia...

You can get away with more in films due to age restrictions. So that means more red blood and more of Rei's nipples. :lol: I seem to rember that after Leliel fight, the guys at TV Tokyo thought that, maybe they should put it on a little later, and I though the pattern blue thing was a refference...
