@Xard Arigatou For those of you who won't respond anyway, there are a few problems with Xard's suggestion: If someone has NND downloader (I don't have it installed) I think it would be prudent to DL these vids just in case they're deleted 1. You have to install adobe air as w...

I successfully registered but I can't log in. Do you have to type the password in Kanji? I typed mine in English and it accepted it fine, but when I type in the exact username and pass it doesn't log me in.

Freudian Analysis of Pokemon

I remember there being some Pokemon thread a while ago where Yojimbo mentioned some theory that Pokemon was a Freudian dream of Ash. Here is the essay written by some anonymous person on 4chan. http://community.livejournal.com/pokemon/1575631.html?thread=23307727 Some of it seems logical but mainly ...

It's been too long since I started this thread, I don't remember what I meant! ^_^ OK then. I'll assume it's based off an artistic/depth criteria. Just missing my Top 10 are Texhnolyze, Rurouni Kenshin, and Escaflowne. Rurouni Kenshin? It was one of the only somewhat artistic shonen...

Does Jimbo mean "best" as in artistically best (most deep, most meaniful visual craft), or the most influential?

I asked that because the belief on the supernatural origins of the circles is based on the same premise. Humans obviously couldn't have caused them, hence aliens dunnit. Oh. It was just the way you phrased the question. You never know when people are being serious or employing dry humor here. T...

Tokyo-3, Rabid-Sachiel, I'd love to hear what you guys think about crop circles. Is that a hint of sarcasm I detect? Assuming you're actually being serious, I don't really have any strongly held ideas on the matter. Although I've heard Von Daniken's speculation that crop circles...

Because in every single instance, they've been able to prove it was possible with primitive tools: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCvx5gSnfW4 All this video proves is that a human of average strength could move large blocks (which may weigh less than the ones I mentioned) laterally from...

@People who don't believe AAT There is so much evidence in the form of monuments, religious/mythological texts, maps, artifacts etc. supporting the same general idea: humanity was visited in the remote past by extraterrestrials and these ETs interacted with and influenced humanity. Here is some ...

@GVman I don't know if you're inferring that you think I am racist in some way, but I am not, in any way. Speak for yourself. It seems curious that you brought prejudice/racism into a topic that has nothing to do with that. @Topic I still believe that non-Japanese dubs are primarily a market...

^ umm... no. Akira in many ways allowed for EoE, and Evangelion in general to be produced. Imagine how bad the anime market would have spiraled down if not for the international success and intense flow of capital to Japanese animation production companies. Akira revamped the anime market in Japan ...

In general, I just think dubs are a marketing device meant to attract viewers in countries other than Japan who are just starting to watch anime and are unaware of the fact that anime is Japanese or can't/don't want to read subtitles, to anime so the anime distributors in X country can make ...

It is clear to me that The End of Evangelion (Shin Seiki Evangelion Gekijouban) is infinitely more deep than Akira. Comparitively there is no comparison; "EoE" is clearly the greater work of art. How could anyone try to defend the statement that Akira (a film about the underlyi...

now that I think about it, Anno's having read Chariots Of The Gods is another possible explanation for the use of religious imagery in Eva.
