Sure, I think he's wrong and find his arguments incredibly weak. Anyone with even a little historical perspective on art would too; which is puzzling considering Squid professes to possess such a perspective. Even though it was unintentional, all of us still managed to utterly obliterate his eg...

I misread your post, I thought you were comparing them on the basis of quality. You were comparing them to his critiques, I understand that now. Comparing Shakespere's works and Evangelion is an unfair comparison, as they both are in a completely different format, with different pacing and style...

Let's face it people, Evangelion is supposed to be entertaining. It's a Anime television show, first and foremost. Isn't Anno's vision meant to be moving, but in an enjoyable way? That's how it really should be. I'm not doubting it's depth of character or the phycological...

Trust me, I've spent that time. I couldn't come to a conclusion. :boohoo:

I'd say it's much harder but not impossible. We do have to face that Austen lived in very different times and a lot of what she was satirizing (especially the mistreatment of women) really doesn't apply today. But what I do miss is the dryness. I've likened reading Austen to...

In the books I think the two sides compliment each other, but in the adaptations and the conversations between "Janeites" they tend to drown out her dry wittiness and satire with the romantic elements. The same thing happens in Romeo & Juliet which while being one of the most "ro...

That's impressive for a young male to appreciate Austen; I love her, though I don't consider her much of a romance writer. Her social satire seems to get lost in the superficial romance of her narratives. You should check out the Brontes too if you haven't. Thank you. I always thought h...

I'm a thirteen year old boy who likes Jane Austen, Elizibeth Glaskell and other famous romance writers. I'm overly maternal to everyone I meet. I have a habit of if I want to talk to someone I make an elaborate, complex and highly sophisticated way of making us accidently meet eachother. Eve...

Wow, thank you so much! You've found so many photos. I had trouble finding one, let alone 30! I would think Misao would be a bit more forceful and really put the "moves" on our little Shinji. I wonder if Misao would be as clingy as Misato, or even more clingy if they entered an actual ...

I agree completly. Also, the pacing of Evangelion is very different, with quite a long story arc. It would be very hard to put into a few films as there is not that many climaxes or cliffhangers in the episodes. Asian story telling is quite different then western and I think it's quite apparent ...

Has to be number three. God, you guys are really making him a bit more evil then EMK. Instead of suffocating the poor kitty, he's going to blow it's brains out with a 12 gauge shotgun.

I've had a little crisis of conscience. Is it wrong to like a shipping on purely aesthetic appeal?
