Re: Operation 0706 is to be continued on July 6

The length should be about the same, but the sequence will probably the 1.01 version which has some slight angle changes and updated fx. It should also have a "previously on evangelion" intro which has too seen some (blink and you'll miss it) updated cuts in 1.01. If you have a VPN, Amazon...

[spoiler] Link to the screenshot if not working: https://i.imgur.com/2Aet6Kf.png https://i.imgur.com/2Aet6Kf.png What was I showing? I was just asking anyone from the recent Trailer B - where Asuka meets her original clone before Eva-13 scene and removal of her eyepatch - if that's the original clo...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn

Though wasn't the implication that Shinji though HE would be taking the bullet until Yui decided to take his place? Precisely this. I'm more wondering in how different their impact results would have been, and why it matters so much that Shinji is saved by Yui? Outside of being a less deep closure ...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn

Anyway, when I wrote "It's a really beautiful sequence", I was actually referring to the whole thing (from one "beach scene" to the other). It was a little difficult for me to understand everything that was going on. There are two obvious reasons for that. Firstly, I haven't wat...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn

Regarding 3.0+1.0, I can only mention what it is say in the script. Humans speak as the Near Third Impact being the worst thing that happened to them. This is correct - it's stated as the cause for the majority of the destruction seen in 3.0 and the first half of 3.0+1.0. Such as the headless eva b...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn

it would all make so much more sense if Mari was also a clone or a gene-modded daughter of the original lady that knew fuyutsuki etc. it wouldn't break the "but we had to use (initially) young people" tension that is like the cause for the entire plot. I mean in the last scene she doesn't...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn

The Hideaki Anno/ Eva 3.0+1.0 doco just finished airing on NHK and it was a nice little look into their whole production process. It discusses part of Anno's past (working for Tezuka, and his time at Ghibli - with interviews from Miyazaki & Suzuki). Showed some of the boarding process and pre-vi...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

Personally, when I saw this tweet, I was hoping for something about the NASA involvement. I could be wrong, but pretty sure the NASA involvement is the CG moon used in the film is made from Nasa Assets. Also in regards to Asuka being alone in the end scene: Asuka as we know, has gone upto this far ...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

For three movies the CGI has been...well, shitty. And this time there aren't excuses about time or budget restrains. In context it's not all bad - the opening 10 mins of the film is basically what you get for the rest cgi wise, until the end where there's a few iffy bits. The best cg in the film is...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

Wonder what's the context of that image of Asuka and Mari seemingly speaking to each other? Shinji's just ended his story arc with her, Mari then perhaps saves her from where she is "physically", but I'll let you see it for yourself. Side note, When showing the Asuka battle simulations - ...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

Fun fact: in Japanese, メアリー ("Mearii") is a more typical translation of "Mary", but biblical Mary, as in the Magdalene, is マリア ("Maria"). So he's not calling her Maria of Iscariot, he's calling her Mary Iscariot. Man's got some Rock Lee wrist weights on, cuz those are ...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

Is 01 still a Lilith alterego/ clone? And what about the Fuyu line that goes like “ the resurrection of the artificial Lilith?!? 01 has the same role for the most part. Due to events between 2.0/3.0 revealed to us, there was another "black" Lillith created by Nerv for the "Additional...

Re: Shin Eva leak general

Havn't posted here in years. Saw the film in Imax yesterday and been having it sit with me, will try check it out again tomorrow. Some food for thought that I've yet to see commented on. FYI my Japanese is so-so, there's bound to be some things i've missed. Also note to those reading the fan transla...

It actually is, suss 26mins 49sec on 2.22 when it show's Misato and 2nd impact, with all the "sketchy" animation. So even if it's not exact same frame, the concept of the image is there, same angels/adams, same positions, just more intense framing. It definatley seems like somethin...

The moon giant was already identified as Mark 6, when Gendo and Fuyutsuki see it from space. It's true that we know it's mark 6, but as for what it really is underneath the armour and restraints. Just the fact that it looks much too like unit 01 has me wondering if it's what Seele wante...

I need some clarification on Unit 6.... In the teaser for Q, is the eva unit we see hovering down (probably Nerv, just before we see Unit 8 for the first time) Unit 6? Because although it's status is side on, it seems to match with what we have seen of it front on. I'm guessing this ...

Loved to hear the doorbell ring at lunch for the Bluray having arriven.

How's everyone's filmstrip? While i was quite lucky last time, this time all i have is some barren land with no characters, quite forgetable. Such a shame considering the beautiful imagery this film has!
