I always thought if A/S were possible at all it would require a major overhaul of Asuka's character, and maybe some touchups to Shinji's.

Not at all, it's just that you're not in that group. And I shouldn't have said it's wrong, it's not. BUT the problem is that people who do this will risk losing interest in Rebuild if things don't go the AxS way, or worse if Asuka is killed off.

Some people are AxS fans more than they are eva fans. It's kind of like the Tifosi (Ferrari fans), they like Ferrari more than Formula One. If the 2 Ferraris are out of the race they don't want to watch the rest of the race. I find this wrong for some reason. I'm an eva fan first...
