So do we know why Gendo didn't need the lance while SEELE did? I guess he wasn't gonna go THAT far in his impact?

I think i always put those two together since the response to DNA diving is trying to get the lance out.

For Lilith having the lance inside her seems more like a countermeasure to third impact. So I found it weird they will try to take it out of Adam.

I was watching episode 22 and thinking about why the lance of longinus was so necessary in an impact and came up with a theory i at least haven't heard before. During second impact there was human DNA on the lance that went into Adam. So that can be read as a offspring of Lilith DNA put in Adam....

One of the things I never got was why were Seele so pissed after Eva 1 ate the S2 engine? Were they planning to put there own engines in Eva 1?
