I agree with everyone else: just show him the first two Rebuild movies, and hopefully he'll be so hooked he pursues the series and EoE on his own!

Someone else pointed out upthread that they might be eating in several courses. Could Rei have been using the meat course to take her supplements?

Thanks for the link for "Pages"; I was trying to hunt it recently, but to no avail. I'd recommend Lavanya Six's "Taking Sights," which is one of the best Eva fics I've read -- and I've been reading Evangelion fanfiction since 2002/2003 -- and the only one I still ...

"It's been three years."

What happened between Shinji and Gendo three years ago? Did canon intentionally leave it vague, or have I simple forgotten some crucial piece of the puzzle?

er...the infamous scene in episode 16 in which Rei initiates a conversation with Asuka ? That's another great use of blocking and posture. ( Screencap! ) But, um, that wasn't what I was asking. Sorry. *sheepish* I guess I didn't clarify my point well enough. I wanted to know if ...

Rei is extremely self-contained in her body language. She's usually folded upon herself somehow -- hugging her knees, one hand cupping her opposite elbow, fingers laced, et cetera . Like a shy child, she tends to cling to herself, as another poster pointed out. Though I admit I haven't watch...

I usually lurk, but I haven't seen this mentioned...

There are a few places in the series where Rei mimicks Gendo in her body language. Most notably I can think of a school scene where she's sitting, elbows on her desk with her hands folded over her mouth, and staring out the window.

What's this? Tokyo-3 resembles an actually city now, instead of "Generic Skyscrapers" that may or may not have been pulled from stock.

I consider myself more of a swot than an otaku, just because the word "otaku" sets my teeth on edge these days.

I'm a high school student who recently turned seventeen and is in the frantic "must fill out college applications NOW!" stage of life. I live in the suburbs of D.C., but I shan't specify where. Um, I work part-time as a secretary after school, mostly pro bono, and I do a lot of vol...
