Of all the movies mentioned in the previous 2 posts, only in the cases of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter did a studio initially commit to making multiple movies at once. In every other case, said franchise movies were all green-lit one movie at a time. And then there's the case of STAR WARS...

They would have to get a studio to foot the bill, and release it, hire some actors, get the director.

All I know is that they got some pre-production sketches and scripts that their trying to use to sell the movie to a studio.
