EoE is mainly animated by studio IG, not GAINAX. The main difference is probably how they made her shoulder pylons a lot smaller in the movie - I'll let Reichu nag about the other differences.

Uh-oh, better not go repeating that myth too much around here... Shin-seiki and the others will rip you apart like a pack of hyenas eating a gnu. Hey, although the general consensus is that EoE as a whole isn't a "one finger salute" to anyone, that doesn't rule out the possibility...

Niko-san, while I agree that the grumpy old men are oftentimes obtuse at best, I suppose there's no real reason that they were pulling stuff out of their arses when they said that ALL life would be complemented. Regardless, if they knew that all along, it's still nicely inconsistent with th...

And about the rusty nail; couldn't it be possible the nail is rusty because of the tide? Couldn't Shinji have hung the cross on the rusty nail? He most likely did, but it's still obvious that some time has passed (a few days, I would guess), since the rust from the nail has stai...

Hell no. She ain't missing any fingers and the bandages aren't even bloody.

And how does your question even relate to what I said?

EDIT: HOLY CRAP!!! I think I've just clarified the motives behind Instrumentality! When the key to returning to human form is imagining yourself in your own heart, then it may be possible to come back as just about anything. SEELE is a bunch of whithering old men, right? They're living off ...

Some time after the end of the movie Shinji and Asuka go looting.

They're there, I suppose, to confirm that Shinji is, in fact, watching Misato and Kaji fornicate Isn't this blatantly obvious otherwise? 7) And obviously, episodes 25 & 26. Worst ending in anime history? Yeah, its probably still up there in my mind. I take it you haven't seen So...

Question For Anyone: Do most people understand the basic meaning of Evangelion after their first viewing? I sure as hell didn't. But I guess it depends largely on the viewer. That's how new folks see Evangelion. But what about the hardcore fans? Well, even those who've seen Evangelion u...

Not to mention Gendo's insta-clean clothes and his office that remains undamaged even when it's destroyed. Gendo is clearly a magical schoolgirl.

Lookie-lookie. That thing looks like a worthy adversary for that Toyota LandCruiser from GoS. There is only one thing in this universe that could seriously challenge Yui in her new S2-boosted form, and that is Bruce Campbell. But I see no reason why they should be fighting against each other. ...On...

Okay, what's going on in this th- oh Jesus what have I started?!? Well, as a closing comment I have to say that AA and Faulkner's debate seems like one of those "apples and oranges" sort of cases. I apologize if I happen to misrepresent said persons' views here, but it seems to...

I agree we can just use the concepts within Evangelion (e.g LCL is a sticky liquid, smelling like blood and is referred to as the "soup of life") to make sense of the plot in Evangelion. However, I am of the opinion that this is not enough. This goes to show that there are differe...

I think symbolism is more important in the EoE, given the TV ending had less action. Personally, I think a Jungian framework is necessary and sufficient to explain the symbols used, and this aspect has been grossly neglected (well on the Internet at least) in the past. I don't think tha...
