EoE had been out a while but no release had been announced yet, so I was interested in finding out about it. I searched through various anime link pages (Google wasn't as useful then as it would soon become)...I think the Web Turnpike was the root of it. I wound up on the Eva Monkey site...

Robert says it's moved back.

Can't wait to hear it in English.

Have any of you looked at an original language reference to these quotations? I'd be interested to hear whether the actual word was used there, and, if so, if it is capitalized. Otherwise, what follows could be entirely inconsequential. Logos is a specific term referring to organized concepts an...

I won't be buying this one and probably won't get the 1.11 version that's sure to come soon. I'm reasonably sure that we'll see yet another version of each released before its all said and done. It's as crazy as the previous movie releases...and, over time, it'll probably...

What impeccable irony that such a reminder is necessary in a thread specifically created to remind of the exact same thing. Diabolical! http://www.shwiggie.com/boards/emoticons/joker.gif Temporary bans are nothing but hassles for administrators. Sure, the purpose is to guide troublesome members into...

Culling is a good thing. I purge my own board semi-regularly of zero-post accounts and those with no posts attributed to them over the past year or so. But that's just my own philosophy...post or die. Being that my group's only a few dozen, I tend to post cull lists and have everyone vote on...

I don't see what worthwhile difference it makes either way. Rowling's tidbit of information is just that: a tidbit that explains a little about the character of Dumbledore...and probably has the culminating effect of ending a silly long-time debate within the fandom. The best analogy to it w...

the absolute answer, held within the Eva Carddass Masters Trading Card Game If that's the official line on it, then case closed. But that doesn't mean it makes a lick of sense. In fact, it's ridiculous...he's been alone, what, five whole minutes? O NOES, I CHOK JOO, HAW! *SNIFFLE* S...

Let's ask ourselves a couple simple questions. Did you enjoy Evangelion the first time you watched it? What about the second time? The third? Well, just how many times did you watch it, anyway?! Consider also the End of Evangelion film. You kinda/sorta knew what happened after episode 24 based o...

Fullmetal Alchemist turned out to be a pretty good anime...but I wouldn't call it great. In fact, I would have dropped it after the third or so volume had it not been for people telling me to stick with it. It just didn't go anywhere for a long time, but in the end I'm glad I was able to...

Robotech/Macross was my favorite anime series before NGE came along. Stylistically and thematically, I think Macross set the stage for a show like Evangelion. Mecha aside, I've always been partial to shonen like Kimagure Orange Road and Love Hina. Hey, it can't all be "hard work"....

I don't know that that image is really accurate...I think most people by the end were more like this: For me, it was more of an, "oh, well, okay...let's watch this again." Once you watch it and get over the out-of-left-field nature over it, you can deal. I was left cold by the TV e...

I'd go under one condition: that you could guarantee that Misato would hold a gun to my head and order me around.

Hold on, let me go grab some candles, a jar of mayonnaise, and some toilet paper.

I dunno. I see Eva as ultimately being about learning to survive in a world that sucks in sundry ways. All the pseudo-religious/psychological/technical rah-rah is just there to make it palatable to people who expect that from this particular genre setting.

It's not my favorite series...that title would most likely go to the original Transformers shows of the eighties. I don't care if it's considered anime or not...for the record, I don't. It's not even second, either, as Batman TAS probably makes its way to that slot, and Justice L...
