Re: Does anyone think that Shinji should have had his revenge on NERV? B/

Personally I could never hold it against him for wanting to destroy NERV after the dummy plug forced him to incapacitate Toji. The dummy system is proof that NERV never truly needed him as a pilot; but merely as a catalyst for the Third Impact. What better way to rob a child of his self confidence ...

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!

I also kept thinking about how great AC6 was also bold and excellent, but its X360 exclusivity as a result of Microsoft pretty much bribing Bandai Namco killed that franchise for over 10 years as it would ensure low sales and from that point on those games would be trend chasing after mainstream AA...

https://i.ibb.co/WBnXW1d/digimon-1.png This film was terrific, Last Kizuna made good use of a Digidestined-as-villian. Some plot notes: I'm not clear why [the villian] can't just go see her old partner in the digital world. There's no reason the latter would be dead, and even if Izzy ha...

Shinkalion: Change the World From the creators of Atom: The Beginning and Recovery of an MMO Junkie comes the aged-up version of everyone's favorite transforming train mecha anime. And by “aged” I mean like a fine wine – 2019 was ages ago, their OG fans are at least in middle school now. The story ...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II B/

It's not incomprehensible like G-Reco , but all that is just too much everything for 25 episodes, especially with a named cast this big. If the show was longer, around 50 episodes or so like the older TV Gundams, maybe all of this could've worked within a more rigid arc structure (that's how Metal ...

Immortal Grand Prix, Megas XLR and Big Guy and Rusty the boy robot had two seasons. Voltron: Legendary Defender had 8.

And while it hasn't shined in TV or films much, Battletech is a clear institution in gaming.

Rurouni Kenshin 2023 Wholly recommend heading for the high seas for this one. Because reasons. After watching 5 episodes, I'll say the series is crisper, cleaner in animation. Far less reliance on action lines, or spinning camera moves than the 90's series to imply movement. It may be trying to be ...

Re: Voltron: Legendary Defender BP

My capsule review: the first two seasons are some of the best television I’ve ever seen. Then someone got the nostalgia bug and it all went to hell. YMMV, of course. I've seen people rate Season 6 as the high point , partly because we get peak Black Paladin drama; exploration of the Keith-Shiro dyn...

Oh well, it was more due in part to the very limited knowledge I had of Tamers since I didn't see much except an episode where the school teacher and the co-worker has a crush on her are attacked at night by bad Digimon Pretty sure the Dub manufactured that first part. In the Japanese audio the Tea...

Re: Voltron: Legendary Defender

I come from the future to say: Yes, this is pretty great. The world building is not on The Last Air Bender 's level. Quintessence is a common power source & McGuffin, but other than war, it's not really made use of or integrated into the wider society the way bending was in TLA. OTOH, I dare you...
