Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

The finale for G-Witch's first cour finally dropped, and WOW , it sure makes me wonder how the next cour in April is gonna go ahead. I put the image below in spoiler tags because it's fairly large - and it's a spoiler that makes perfect sense once you've seen the episode to the very end. https://med...

Re: EVA 3.0 Is 10 Years Old!

How on earth is this movie 10 friggin years old? Same question here. Lawdy, I'm late to this conversation! I remember my original reaction being "WTH, has Evangelion finally jumped the shark?!!?" and shaking my head at all this. Took me a while to settle into it, but 3.0 became my f...

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

G-Witch has been delayed to December 25 and January 8, so while I can't quite hope to see the series finale on Christmas Day, it looks like I have something big to look forward to. This episode, to quote Palpatine, was "a surprise, but a welcome one". The backstory and setup for the G-Witc...

R.I.P. Kevin Conroy.

I have no idea how I missed this. R.I.P. Kevin Conroy. :(

Re: ADV dub - Star Trek references?

Quite possibly. "Make it so" was popularized by Captain Picard, although I believe the quite itself comes from the Horatio Hornblower series of novels and was archetypical of what Royal Navy captains would say to their crew to get something done, complete with a godlike tone of authority. ...

Joel and Blockio pretty much said it. We've never allowed polls during our site's history for all the reasons previously mentioned, and to our benefit.

Re: Gundam (In All Its Incarnations) Mk. II

So I've actually caught up on this, the first recent Gundam-franchise media to get my attention and hold it with all the references to Utena and The Tempest . And last episode really did go places! Aerial works fine as Eri-L and I agree that is likely the case. I guess we're getting a Gundamgeli...

Re: Avatar: The Last Airbender (WTF is your avatar/sig from?)

The AI creation using Stable Diffusion is pretty darn interesting, although the mismatched eyes lend it a truly uncanny feel. Now I understand why you changed your avatar after so long! (I personally prefer Ritsuko with the drums)

I've just skimmed through it rather than giving it a thorough read due to the lack of time - but I must say I'm impressed with what I do see. Carry on, good sir!

Re: Kaji

Long time no see, Wayne! And to further back Wayneiac's point, the idea that Gendo had grown the Adam embryo into a full-size giant is hinted at throughout the series. Gendo and Fuyutsuki refer to Lilith as "Adam" in Episodes 13 and 15 - possibly to fool the Nerv personnel who know that th...

It seems that Godard died of an assisted suicide. It's sad to think that he's no more, given just how incredible and influential he was - his influence coming all the way down to Evangelion too! RIP.

Parkagirl - please don't multiple post because that can cause a thread to become very cluttered. If yours is the last post in a thread, just edit your previous post with the new information. It's best to add a new post only after someone else has already posted (and therefore seen your previous post...

Comments added. Thanks, midoriyoh and Parkagirl! 17-241: Hikari is humming "Fly Me to the Moon" here! ...No kidding?!? I don't have my DVDs with me now so I can't confirm that "Fly Me to the Moon" is indeed what she's humming, but if she is...well, that's quite a surprise that it...

Done with whatever I could do...

It's weird to think that Dr. Nick's finished adding his comments on the series. Since Tines added his a full year ago, that just leaves thewayneiac as the last remaining (semi-active) member of the old Eva Commentary Project to add his comments.

Re: Where Ireul came from

I think I missed the part about the Nerv Intelligence agents being hired by Seele. That's not referenced in this episode, but it is something that becomes increasingly evident beginning in Episode 21 with Fuyutsuki's kidnapping, and in Episode 24 when Section 2 very conveniently "loses" A...
