Re: Forum Wackiness

Sessions expiring while composing a post has always been a thing, though it's possible some of the measures we've taken in response may have had some inadvertent effects on sessions. I've had to answer the "captcha" as part of logging in a couple of times following the recent changes.

Re: News of Anime in Japan

This season's ecchi, Ishuzoku Reviewers, seems to be too hot to handle. Not only have Funi dropped it from their simulcast/simuldub, but even the censored version is being dropped from channels in Japan.

Re: Netflix: Ghost in the Shell - Sac 2045...

Budget makes a difference. A movie gets more cash per minute than a series, and an OP that gets used every episode will get proportionately more attention too -- just as with 2D animation, where a polished OP can be followed by increasing QUALITY in later episodes.

Re: Evangelion ANIMA (general)

So I picked up and read the first volume. It was surprisingly OK so far, in the style of "Eva continuation-fic that I might have written, following an Asuka-centric, early SysOp crash, fix-fic", however off the rails it might get later.

From what I read, "Code000" wanted to axe the manga at chapter 32, but Yabuki managed to negotiate a few extra chapters to get some kind of conclusion. Compared with the usual axing, this was better than we might have had.

Re: Darling in the Franxx (Studio Trigger)

And it's done. Incredibly rushed at the end (some plot threads getting resolved in a panel or so), as one might have expected, given where we were when the "3 chapters left" dropped. On balance, slightly better at the conclusion than the anime, if only because it simply omitted most of the...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

In the end, I dropped Kirara Asteroid and Somali as failing to hold my attention (the dual monitor test -- is there something more interesting on the other screen?), and in their place I have finally watched another episode of Chihayafuru 3 while keeping up with the other series from this season men...

You could look back at the archives to see what the answer was for the previous movies. If memory serves, it was something like "a few days after the first showings in China".

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

While waiting for the new season to start, I put all the series I had been part-way through on hold, and rewatched KemoFure and GaruPan . Of the new season, Heya Camp△ being a short short hardly counts, so I tried Kirara Asteroid as a cute girls doing things in the same sort of vein option, but wasn...

Srsly, who would DDOS this forum. I think Zoop has the right of it -- just an impersonal attempt to compromise, rather than it being someone with a vendetta against the site (and on that score, I can think of more likely names than your list). It just makes a change that it's likely an attack again...

Re: Top anime of the 2010s

Mushishi S2 is the only "sequel" on my list, but being episodic, it's less a "the story continues" than a "more of the same" (unlike Fafner from the AOTY-but-not-top-ten honourable mentions); half of them are anime originals, including 3 mobage tie-ins as functionally ...

Re: Top anime of the 2010s

It's pleasing to see that there's a great divergence in tastes here. It also means that it would have been futile to try making this any sort of poll, as there's very little consensus (even on post format :D ). Having hardly watched any movies in recent years myself (only The Wind Rises , and Kaguya...

That was supposed to be a prequel/origin story, even if ageing in appearance is entirely optional for full-body cyborgs.
