Re: Accurate End of Evangelion subtitles

If any of the text-based subtitle files has the text overlays, then it's a matter of just sitting with Notepad or equivalent to strip out the dialogue lines. This is left as an easy exercise for the reader.

Re: Are the mods/admins taking the forum the right way?

One thing to be considered is the old injunction about not messing with success -- the forum is now 2/3 of the way through its second decade, with a population that continues to refresh, even as old hands fade into inactivity. The time I felt that the forum was closest to being running on fumes was ...

Re: DELETE MY ACCOUNT

Moved this thread to the correct sub-forum.

As is noted, by the time an account has been involved in discussion, plenty of the posts are entangled in quotations. We've not deleted even the worst of the banned accounts (drive-by spammers aside).

Also, can we keep to the Vegas rule, and keep the discord-causing Discord server well away from matters to do with this forum.

Re: Are the mods/admins taking the forum the right way?

People who haven't understood a) self deprecation and b) sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me should download this font and make it the default in their browser. Just deal with it when you read about the quaint town in the North-East called Svulvahorpe, and and that coun...

Just a reminder that episode 24 opens with happy young Asuka finding her mother had hanged herself. The scene you refer to appears in the heretical document known as 24'.

Re: Shin Eva - New Trailer (12-24-20)

(granted this is NGE vs Rebuild but it happens constantly) NGE farmed out the animation quite widely, so characters were off-model (or at least done in the local "house style") on a regular basis (see also muppet-Rei at the end of episode 6). That makes it difficult to extract the signal ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Apart from Pui Pui Molcar (it's Molcar Monday again, folks), Yuru Camp Δ 2 is the only series of the season to so far catch my attention, so it's rewatch time on those cold, dark winter evenings. Modern-Day Magic for Dummies held up as rewatchable fluff; as I get to the closing stages of Tegami Bach...

Re: Minor Nitpicks

Let's start with Asuka. This was a vigorous point of discussion back in the day -- check just about any Rebuild thread from 2009-12 with "Asuka" in the title, as well as the "Quality of Rebuilds" threads. And since you called 2.0 "Ha", I have another nitpick, this time...

1.0 was released a few days before my 50th birthday. I didn't expect to have already retired before the last one came out.

Re: Shin Eva's Indefinite Delay Support Group

I love how all 6 of the Disney Star Wars movies came out after 3.33, and it's already colored how we read the entire Evangelion franchise. The "Anno = Lucas" thing began long ago, with the comparison then being to the prequel films (the one memeified version I recall having "Mari = J...
