a clockwork orange Be sure your copy has a glossary, you're going to need it. You know, I can't remember if I used a glossary when I read it. I don't think I did; after a while, the meaning of most words became clear to me as they were used repeatedly in certain contexts. In any case, y...

I dreamed that I was in a Korean restaurant and I wanted some food. There was a lady at the counter, who I asked to bring me something to eat. She went back into the kitchen for a few minutes and seemed to be conversing with the cooks inside. After some time had passed, she returned with a huge slab...

I've never really understood the appeal of figures. They remind me too much of the dozens and dozens of dolphin, tiger, snowmen, ducks and teddy bear knick-knacks (including one curious object that appears to be a dolphin being ridden by a teddy bear in a dress) that my mother keeps line...

DVDs Patriotism ~Yukio Mishima Books The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann Mishima directed, produced, wrote the screenplay for, and was the lead actor in the movie Patriotism, which is based on a short story that he wrote (I'm beginning to think this guy may have been a little egocentric!)....

I've seen it, but it didn't strike me as anything much and skipped it when I watched the rest of the series. Don't get me wrong, it's not Bach or anything like that, I just think it's very pretty and gentle; its greatest strength is that it fits the series so well. Part of it is...

I'm very surprised that Haibane Renmei's OP hasn't gotten a single mention in this thread. Do people who like Evangelion not watch Haibane Renmei? That's sad. It's the best anime ever made, in my opinion. I think a lot of people on here would like it, too. In my opinion, Haibane ...

Fallout 3 is on my list of games to buy when I get money. Forgot to put I got a remote control tank from Gears 2 at Best Buy for $30. It's on Amazon.com for $35 right now (PC version). That's pretty cheap for a new game, and since it's $35 you wouldn't have to pay shipping, ...

I went to Ohayocon '08 and I may go next year as well. It was the first big con that I ever went to (previously I had only gone to Tsubasacon, a small anime convention in West Virginia), and it was a very enjoyable experience.

But on the subject of good books, I'm about a third of the way through In Search of Lost Time and likin' it so far. What a very pleasant surprise to come across somebody on this forum who has undertaken the arduous and extremely rewarding challenge of reading Proust! Really, this sort of th...

Honestly, no, I've never had any college textbooks that I felt were shitty in that manner. About the worst I can say for any of them is that my European history textbook wasn't very engaging, despite the fact that I love history. That was an issue with the style of the text, though, not the ...

I think that as far as all-out sex appeal goes, Kensuke's got it in spades. When it comes right down to it, it's just a fairly well established fact that all women secretly crave a bespectacled dork. This is absolutely true. Some will profess this openly, you'll find that others are just...

Merry Christmas. Anyone get any Eva junk for X-Mas? I sure as hell did. Not me. I just got an HDTV with 5.1 surround sound speakers and a bunch of money with which to buy anime. I was going to get Evangelion Platinum Vol. 4 but instead I'm getting All of Kino's Journey Volumes 2-4 of Saikan...

as is using the hand? i dont see how bulls can do that... unless you are talking about them mounting animals of the same sex... Oral, rather than manual, self-stimulation is involved here - humans are rather less flexible than most mammals. That is slightly disgusting. If I hadn't seen a lot of...

If you can get yourself off, that makes you a bisexual. Well, according to my own twisted sense of logic, anyway. I still stand by South Park's mantra, "We're all a little gay." Deny it all you want. Deep down inside, you're a member of a filthy ape whose closest living relati...
