Khara hasn't released credits on their own Eva site. ANN is making shit up.

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread

We lost both Carol Spinney (Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, etc.) and Rene Auberjenois (Constable Odo from DS9) on the 8th. They both had pretty good runs -- 85 and 79 respectively. Still sucks, though.

Re: If you had to pick. . .

BoJack Horseman.

Show that initially comes off as exactly what it seems (in this case, low brow adult animated comedy), only to pull out the rug from under the audience and turn out to be a brutally honest exploration of its fucked-up cast.

Re: Ayanami, Shikinami and Makinami

The moon-waves thing was just something I couldn't get out of my head once I heard it -- like, "well, fuck, how did we never notice that before?" In NGE, we only have Rei Ayanami, and FuyuTSUKI refers to her as the product of his despair -- implying that he played a big role in her creatio...

Re: Ayanami, Shikinami and Makinami

I feel like something weird is being implied to the effect of a common origin for all three -namis. The most obvious thread in common would be the Artificial Evolution Laboratory, where both Yui and a woman with suspicious visual similarities to both Mari and Asuka worked. Less obvious is the Fuyuts...

Re: FML general thread [8]

Somehow managed to survive this long at my shitty overnight part-time stocking job, and for a while I was visibly improving my skills and physique and building a respectable reputation. But now it feels like I've reached the point where there is no possible future but to utterly flake out and go dow...

Re: Seele didn't give a f*** about "losing" the Nebuchadnezzar key.

An extremely weak use of "NO YOU". You marched in here and made an utterly bare-bones excuse for a thread with no intention of having an actual discussion, which is not how things are done around here, which is why I have criticised you. People responding to a thread with alternative expla...

It seems like you had your mind made up when you created the thread and never intended to engage in anything but a bad faith argument, but maybe that's just me...

Re: Death Note! (I know, I took forever to find this show. But it was worth the wait)

It was tolerable when L was around, but once he was gone it became protracted torture. A whole lot of "I'm going to stand around and think at great length about how clever I am." Yeah, no, that's shitty, unengaging storytelling. I get it, you need to conserve budget -- do it *cleverly*. Th...

Re: Seele didn't give a f*** about "losing" the Nebuchadnezzar key.

The key is the thing inside the briefcase. The case itself was probably supplied by Kaji when he smuggled the key out of containment.

Re: Seele didn't give a f*** about "losing" the Nebuchadnezzar key.

Kaji very specifically says that Seele were keeping it as a "spare". Their intended version of HIP involved Mark.06 and Lilith. Gendo's is rather more convoluted.

Also, the reason Seele weren't looking for the Key may simply have been because Bethany Base got blown up.

Re: Rei is Shinji's sister (...not!)

Rei is the name Yui and Gendo would have given their child if it was female, so that's probably where "Rei is Shinji's sister" comes from. (Mostly. I showed NGE to someone with zero foreknowledge and they guessed immediately that Rei was Shinji's sister.)

Re: Is it normal to be traumatized by Evangelion?

"Trauma" has important clinical uses. It feels a wee bit spurious to use that word here (see topic title) in the context of a stimulus shaking you up a little. Eva giving anyone actual trauma entirely on its own merits would not be even a little normal. It'll make you think of bad things, ...

Re: A Proposed Disturbing Ending for Rebuild of Evangelion

I split your post into its own thread because it was basically short-form fanfiction and not a speculation post. What does the Weta concept art have to do with anything? That would go in Everything Else.

Re: Will the good guys kill Gendo? [split]

"Good guys" was just something I threw in when hastily making a split topic title. The topic is right there in the first posts -- whether Gendo will get some comeuppance by an opposing party, as in being killed off by Wille or Shinji, not whether it is actually correct to simplify "al...
