I've seen a couple of his but not that film, added to my watchlist. In the Heat of the Night is the first to come up in my head with the slap heard around the world.

The Servant from 1963 with Dirk Bogarde and Sarah Miles, subversive class-warfare noir that predates Parasite by over 50 years. Has an icy detached tone reinforced by the conditions it was filmed (Big Freeze of 1962/63)

Re: Celebrity RIP Thread

Film director and Orson Welles biographer Peter Bogdanovich has died at 82. I don’t know what to say, his films didn’t break records but cinephiles like myself mourn his passing. if you haven’t seen *Paper Moon* or *Last Picture Show* please do they’re the best examples of 70’s New Hollywood auteuri...

Thank goodness, though it's highly probable he'll retire from professional football. Considering what happened to Muamba years ago.

And I'm please to hear Belgium's leading, relatives used to work on campsites there

Re: Anyone watching the Euros?

I'm keeping an eye on the UK squads, it's the closest I have to a Manx national team. :(

Although the Belgium match tomorrow is looking interesting. I've been to Bruges in 2015 so I have an fondness for the nation, especially their chocolate and beer :w00t:

Movie 43, very puerile and the excessively vulgar humor never worked once. Seriously 99% of the jokes I can't repeat here.

Half agree, that speech Guts gave to the snake baron before ripping into him is too badass.

Indeed, although I should forewarn that the first episode is a potential spoiler.
SPOILER: Show
Namely Femto making an appearance during the nightly torment, so the element of surprise is dampened a tad, but that isn't distracting from the experience.

Candyman (1992) Based off a short story by Clive Barker, it's an ethereal horror movie with a strong mythology behind it, the eponymous monster is a spirit of a 19th century ex-slave who got stung to death being left for dead an angry mob (and attracts massive swarms of bees). Virginia Madsen play ...

Re: Berserk

I read the manga when I was 17 and only got back into it when I heard Miura had passed. Now it made me reappreciate the level of detail he put in his work, and the violent and existential themes he wrestled through Guts. Shocking content yet unflinchingly honest.
