Re: 3.0+1.0 Groundworks
Looks like it wasn't delayed any more after all, and has begun to arrive to people who ordered it. Came across the thread below on Twitter, has a few highlight images.

Re: Shin Eva - Official Blu-ray Release 2022!
Honestly I think it kinda sucks that AL are stuck with what the American release gets, I assume it's heavily judged by a Japanese influence too. I liked the NGE box, but the things like the paperweight and a lanyard were like...what? Rather certain if left to make their own box, they would have mad...

Re: Shin Eva - Official Blu-ray Release 2022!
While it's not an explicit confirmation, when asked a couple of days ago about if they're going to release Shin Eva on Blu-ray, Anime Limited's response was simply the "eyes" emoji. Compared to their responses to other license questions ("we have no news to share at this time" et...

Re: Shin Evangelion - Official Blu-ray Release Thread
Interesting discovery: British retailer HMV has pre-order listings for 1.11 and 2.22 BDs and DVDs, with both having a release date of July 18. Their image for 2.22 shows the old cover art with Manga Entertainment and Funimation logos, so I think it's safe to assume that these are just restocks. But ...

Re: Shin Evangelion - Official Blu-ray Release Thread
Of course, if they release a 4k box set in Japan there's very little chance we'll get it in the States or in any territory with English subtitles or Dub I wouldn't be so sure. Both Gkids and Anime Limited (the US and UK publishers of the new OG series blu-rays) have done 4K releases of anime films ...

Re: Where JP version of Komm Susser Todd played?
Nowhere, as far as I know. The only reason we even know of its existence is the... S2 Works booklet, if I remember correctly? And Anno's original lyrics don't fit the melody so they'd have to be rewritten anyway. (While there is a Japanese version of KST, "Come sweet death second impact" s...

Re: NGE/EOE All The Anime Blu Ray Release Europe 2021
Curiously, they were advertised, and even labelled on the screen, as having the "classic" dub, which everyone took to mean the original ADV one; however, what they played was actually the "Netflix" dub The distributor's response on Twitter seems to indicate that it was meant to ...

Re: Evangelion's Timeline Dates & Speculation
The Evageeks wiki page here supposedly states that episodes 25 and 26 take place in 2016, presumably New Years' Eve/Day, but I might've missed it if this was the case. Instrumentality taking place in 2016 is only ever mentioned in-series in one telop, right at the beginning of episode 26 . Since th...

Re: GKids releasing NGE Blu-Ray in North America 2021
Surely they would subtitle the bonus features? I don't see why they wouldn't, except to be ridiculously cheap and lazy which is not something either of these two US and UK distributors are known for.

Re: 3.0 + 1.0 Reactions
Having just finished the movie, I'm at loss for words. It's really over. And what an ending it was - holy shit, this movie really surprised me in many ways, even though a couple of key points had been spoiled to me. There's a lot to process here. Right now I don't know how to think of the film in te...

Re: NGE/EOE All The Anime Blu Ray Release Europe 2021
Expensive, and exclusive to AllTheAnime's shop (with the FAQ implying they won't ship this one to continental Europe). Can't say I'm surprised. Well, time to wait for a standard edition. (GKIDS is apparently going to reveal theirs soon, no word on Anime Ltd's.)

No Fly Me to the Moon, as I expected.
So they're releasing the two dubs on separate discs? I wonder why.

-Missing spaces, i.e. " Shinji, don'tworry about it! The machinewill take over". This is constant, almost every second line is missing spaces. Across all four rebuilds. -Whenever songs are playing, like "Tsubasa wo Kudasai", or a song from the new movie, the lyric subtitles are ...

Re: Amazon Prime English Dub Cast
Grant's post is certainly... quite something. I don't think I've ever seen a voice actor publicly criticize a translator that harshly. (I do wonder how much of the decisions she attributes to Kanemitsu were actually made by higher-ups at Khara though...) "X Child" vs "X Girl/Boy"...

Re: Amazon Prime Video release
Just rewatched 1.11 on Prime Video (my first time watching it on a TV screen). 'Twas just about as good as I remember, although there were some scenes I had forgot about. The Finnish subs were... okay. The translation was better than Netflix's EoE but not quite as good as the manga localization and ...

Re: Amazon Prime Video release
So they're releasing it timezone by timezone at midnight, kinda like music releases on Spotify? That's certainly a way to stick to the announced release date in every timezone but also means it's very likely being uploaded to pirate sites right now. Oh well, time to start muting spoilery words on Tw...

Idk about Amazon's regional sites, but Prime Video's own website (which is the same for all regions) has placeholders for all four films. 1.11 https://www.primevideo.com/detail/EVANGELION111-YOU-ARE-NOT-ALONE/0K1XKKH7C44WF7VDCYDCFKF3EO 2.22 https://www.primevideo.com/detail/EVANGELION222-YOU-CAN-NOT...

Re: Amazon Prime Video release
Netflix dubs don't tend to appear on home video releases of anime if Baki is anything to go by. Anime Limited was able to get the Netflix dub of Violet Evergarden for their blu-ray release (as, I assume, was Funimation), so it's not impossible, but at the end it comes down to whether including the ...

Re: Amazon Prime Video release
I'm surprised they got some of the ADV cast back. Someone must've been pulling some strings behind the scenes, be it Kanemitsu or even someone from Khara's PR team who saw what the public reaction to the Netflix release was. Well, not that it matters to me anyway - I don't watch dubbed so the only d...

Re: Waiting for Evangelion:3.0+1.0
Haha, okay, so update on this: one of Iceland's main cinema chains just announced that they'll be screening the Demon Slayer film. I'm kind of at a loss for words, I was absolutely not expecting that. Anime being shown in major commercial cinemas over here is surreal to say the least. This makes me...
