Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 looks marvellous. I feel like Evangelion+video game fans who don't give this series a shot are doing themselves no favours. It's the bee's knees.

Re: Final Fantasy series
The Final Fantasy VII Remake project has masterfully handled.... what looks to be the changing of important plot elements. I love Eva but....the original FF7 guys have handled things better so far in revisiting this past work than even Anno himself, imo. :emogendo: It just feels right, even when it ...

Re: Do you not like how Asuka’s arc was resolved?
I don't really think much time was spent on Asuka in the rebuilds, by design, and any heroics that still could have been left for her were instead handed off to Mari. I'm not really satisfied, but it was obvious long before Thrice that she wasn't going to be the primary focus of the rebuilds, and th...

Re: Currently Playing 5: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!
Throw me in the pile playing Skyward Sword. Loved it nearly a decade later after I first played it in 2013. It's not the best Zelda, but it's a lot of fun. I definitely had more fun with Wind Waker HD, Majora's Mask 3D and the Link's Awakening remake from 2019 though, and not based on nostalgia, jus...

its basically a compilation of half the big emotional moments to make everyone want to rewatch it/ go see the new, slightly polished version Watched it for fun. Definitely a spoilery trailer and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone going in blind. :emogendo: The machine translation from Japanese to En...

I'm surprised at the fervour stirred up here.
This manga supplement seems to be fairly harmless stuff. Sure, 14 years is a long time, but it's fine for characters to reminisce for a bit.

All right, you two have convinced me! I hope they can manage it, and it would definitely be a huge point of pride for them to pull that off, right at home in their domestic market.

9 Billion seems to be locked now. But I feel they are really pushing for 10 billion and it still looks out of reach... Looking at the data...I agree that 10 billion is probably out of reach. :emogendo: There's nothing wrong with Khara chasing the dream though. Releasing an altered cut while still i...

Feast your eyes on some amazing fan-made stop-motion animation of Demon Slayer from a really good Japanese Youtuber. This is a compilation of three little skits thrown into one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuVwNEkKT7I

Re: What would you change about Evangelion?
I'd have done the Rebuilds as well, just with no Mari. Yeah, she's there as a marketing vehicle, but all the same I don't consider it a risky move to remove her. I don't see why Misato merchandise with glasses couldn't satisfy the demographic left out. ^_^ I'd also "skip" the time skip. It...

Little disappointed that Khara didn't go even more crazy with the titles and release something like 3.333 + 1.111 in the theaters. Give it a few years and they'll re-release with a title like that in theatres for sure. https://media1.tenor.com/images/74d1c56317f1bb67a3b7060c08c3eb92/tenor.gif?itemi...

Re: Waiting for Evangelion:3.0+1.0
Beyond the deep importance of the domestic Japanese market I'm not sure how much they care about any other market in particular. International releases beyond Japan might be somewhat close together, especially if this English dub talk is true, alongside select continental European languages. All thi...

I'll wait as long as I have to as long as everyone on the other side of the Pacific stays safe and healthy. Still have a metric ass-ton of video games I want to play that should keep me occupied while I keep waiting. Not just Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory and Xenoblade, but Scarlet Nexus and Biom...

Excellent, you're where the Xeno legacy began. It's always good to check out (or return to) the origin story. Re: Netflix English Dub Discussion
The entire Netflix cast did a good job, no complaints here. But speaking of the original cast and its voice acting...I've wondered if Miyamura (and Asuka) speak in the Kansai Dialect, or at least have a discernible accent to Japanese people at all. The voice actress seems to be from the right area a...
