Well, to me, it seems that sometime has passed or that they are in a completely different world. Either way, they are grown up. I don't find it escapist in the timeskip or in the new world, for Shinji to find and befriend new people and move on from his life as an Evangelion pilot.

The whole Shinji/Mari is the thing that threw me for a loop the most. It just seemed out of no where. But, the way Intermediate O answered the question, it seems much more ambiguous and less concrete than I think some people online are making it out.

Well, now that it seems most of the leaks are true, I'm cautiously optimistic. It was not what I was hoping for, but I trust Anno enough to give him the benefit of the doubt. Also, it seems foolish to write it off just hearing it on paper. A lot of the things I'm iffy about might be great.
