Re: Garden of Eden?

The further thought occurs that they set up base at ground zero of mankind and called it "Project Eden". It seems to be recognised as a figurative or literal Eden in universe. The landscaping and building being their own work makes sense though. It should have occurred to me that if they'd...

Re: Garden of Eden?

Are there any previously discussed explanations for how perfectly landscaped the Geofront was? It seems to be presented as a long forgotten paradise.

Garden of Eden?

In the 21st episode, the Geofront is revealed to Fuyutsuki as something they uncovered that was preserved that way.
Could it be (figuratively or literally) the Garden of Eden?

Maybe the black moon was the garden that humans were banished from so long ago.

Re: People who call Rei "emotionless" need to actually watch the show

In NTE, she kind of is, given that the boundary between Adam and Lilith is a lot less clearly defined there; in NGE, no. It would not make sense for her to fuse with Lilith as her place of origin if she actually came from Adam Good point, thanks for clearing that up. I guess she wasn't left out of ...

Re: People who call Rei "emotionless" need to actually watch the show

What are the chances that Rei was genetically constructed from Adam, not Lilith? In this case, she would be of the seed of life, not the seed of knowledge and therefore, unaware of her nakedness (as according to Genesis).

Re: People who call Rei "emotionless" need to actually watch the show

Alexithymia can also be caused by environmental factors just as you described. As an analogy (due to a lack of better wording right now): The condition is more like a symptom, rather than a disorder, thus I think the definition fits her well. I agree that part of how she interacts with the world is ...

Re: People who call Rei "emotionless" need to actually watch the show

By definition, she's alexithymic.
This means she feels emotions, but they don't always make sense to her, nor do the emotions of other people.

Yes, it sounded like a parody of William Shatner to me.

Re: Can anyone verify the authenticity of these quotes?

As far as Sadamoto goes; some time in the early 2000s, he has gone on record saying that he has not watched Eva beyond the single digit episodes and, judging by the things he blatantly gets wrong about the events of the show, it is fairly safe to say that years later he still hasn't. This reminds m...

Re: Would you want Funimation to redub the series?

I think they had the most expensive cast. Money was well spent though as their known anime actors suited the characters very well (namely Kaworu and Ritsuko). I MUCH preferred Funimation's dialogue over Amazon's. That said, I think it would be perfect to me if Amazon just used most of Funimation's s...

ADV dub - Star Trek references?

I'm convinced that the ADV studio was sneaking Star Trek references into their dub. I suppose I just wanna know I'm not imagining it. On at least a couple of occasions, Gendo responds, "make it so" (Captain Picard reference, of course) and I swear that Aoba appears to be doing a Captain Ki...

Re: Funimation Dubs for Rebuild Amazon?

This might be complete lunacy, but I'm hoping some fan decides to mix in Amanda Wynn-Lee's line readings into the Funimation dub. That would become my preferred version. There's something in the works, which I still need to sample myself. https://forum.evageeks.org/post/937215/Evangelion-The-Defini...

Re: Where Ireul came from

Seele seems to know about the Angel from the lockdown in the Nerv facility and the fact that the Nerv Section 2 (Men in Black) agents seem to be under Seele's payroll. There's a lot of treachery implied to be going on that we don't get to see. I think I missed the part about the Nerv Intelligence a...

Re: Funimation Dubs for Rebuild Amazon?

Licensing is complicated, I don't think this would have been possible. I preferred the Funimation dub too, especially the dialogue differences. I felt a bit sad that a lot of my favourite lines were replaced by lines that felt generic. In Funimation I wasn't crazy about Kensuke's high voice or Kaji'...

The Admiral (shouting at Misato):
Sounds like: "I'll have you off turning iron to the keyhole".

Misato responds:
".... you old fart!"
