Re: The little things that made you laugh in 3.0+1.0
The overall quality of the second part was pretty funny.

Re: How do you feel about Shinji ending up with Mari?
Rebuild always had this fanfic-tier feeling to it, so I wasn't really surprised at the ending.

Re: Shin Eva leak general
End of Evangelion had quite a concrete ending with numerous hints building the bigger picture. Perhaps this one will have those too.

Re: Shin Eva leak general
What a strange way to end the films. Well, I guess when your sole reason for making them is "destroying Eva" and making money, that's what you get.

Re: Is no one bothered by the sexualization of the characters in EVA?
I’ll make a confession when I say that I came across some doujin works by Saigado, two of which features a grown up Asuka and a grown up Rei. And it might be disturbing because of how they featured some grown ups having sex with an underage kid. Have you never read doujinshi before? This isn't some...

Re: Motivations behind sexual themes in NGE
It's simple fanservice. Anno Hideaki-san is an old guard otaku and fanservice is a big part of anime otaku culture. Some sexual imagery is thematically important, of course. Eros and Thanatos.

That's not an example of the sexualization of the characters in EVA. That's an example of the sexualization of the characters in Shinji Ikari Raising Project manga, which has nothing to do with the main series and films.

Re: Is it normal to be traumatized by Evangelion?
Well, I could say that Eva's long lasting traumatic effect lingered on me for several months. At the time I was pretty much an empty shell of my former self. Then I awoke with a tremendous feeling of harmony and joy. Death and rebirth.

Re: Asuka isn't Justified
The answer to this question is: yes, but virtually no one's behavior in Eva is justified. And justified at the same time. First of all, Asuka's arrogance, narcissism, and selfishness are projections of her fake confidence, which she enforces on others to ensure that they won't abandon her, because o...

Re: How did you first get into Evangelion?
Caught it on TV fifteen years ago or so. I was already heavily into anime, but little did I know that I was about to watch the greatest one. Eh, those were the times.
