Re: Does Asuka see Shinji as her Senpai?

Does she wish to regard/see Shinji as a senpai? That's a hard no from me. It's just not the way Asuka is, Rebuild or not.

Re: [TV] BoJack Horseman

Season 5 has obviously been out for a long while now, and much like the other seasons it's a bit of a rollercoaster. The creator's initial idea with BH of life being a neverending series of highs and lows is really personified with Bojack this season. Many after the emotional moment at Season 4's fi...

Re: The Satire of Evangelion

I wouldn't say that Eva is necessarily a "Satire" of mecha anime so much as it is a deconstruction (hate to use the word due to oversaturation but it's the best way to describe it). If I was to make a direct comparison, I would say that Eva is for the mecha genre what Watchmen or The Boys ...

Re: Toji's Squandered Potential

I did think I remembered him dying in some interpretation! Maybe it's about time I re-read the manga. I feel like when Shinji and co. were at their lowest, Toji could have acted as the emotional anchor in a sense. His inherent disconnect from the deeper goings-on at NERV and the complications with S...

Toji's Squandered Potential

Does anyone else hold the idea that Toji was incredibly wasted as a character? Of course the build-up of him becoming a key player in the latter half of the show was intentional as a means of subverting expectations, and I liked that don't get me wrong, but I always personally felt that his presence...

Re: CG and Rebuild

^ Ah, I have faith in them that they have working eyes and care for the product they create. They are working under Anno after all. They tried creating something cool, but the experiment failed. It can't be helped. Better an ambitious failure than what most of seasonal Anime is, lol. Completely agr...

Very interesting. Finding the difference between the initial and final versions of a scene are always fun to look at.

Sakuga Posting

Feel free to drop a link to your favourite Sakuga moments, I personally think Spike Vs Vincent will remain on top for me personally. The hand-to-hand combat gets me hyped like a little child watching DBZ!

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Have just rewatched the entirety of the Vengeance Trilogy for the third time. I can't get enough of those movies, the darkness of them is something that I could see many Eva fans get behind.

Re: The most disturbing moment in Evangelion

I would honestly say the moment where Unit 02 is torn apart by the Eva Series was what comes to mind. The idea of Asuka sharing it's pain and essentially feeling herself be disemboweled always makes me squirm a little.

Eva Character Designs

Quite evidently Eva has got character designs that appeal to a very large audience, so out of sheer curiosity I'm interested to get feedback on these few questions (answer as few or many as you'd like) - 1) Which Eva character design is your favourite and why? 2) Of all the Eva character designs, wh...

Re: Evangelion Endings - Which is Best, Which is your favorite?

End of Eva, by a long shot. I can appreciate an ending that is bittersweet and leaves you with more questions than answers - if done correctly that is - and EoE is a perfect example of that.

Re: How do I convince my stupid friend who won't watch end of eva because of the first scene

Not to sound elitist, but do you think that your friend would even be able to enjoy the movie to it's fullest if he's "stupid"? I mean, the series as a whole is infamous for its confusing deeper meanings and concepts.

Re: Does Rei Ayanami have schizophrenia?

Rei's behaviour is a bi-product of her upbringing I believe. If Anno wished to make her schizophrenic, then it seems it remained a concept and nothing more.

Re: Eva Anatomy & Physiology: 2018 Edition

I think it started off mainly as poor implementation of the Unit's design, but it's still an interesting idea to ponder that it'd physically alter Unit 01's appearance.

Re: CG and Rebuild

I think I was too rash with stating something about Rebuilds CG being considered bad, too many cynical Anitubers influence people's perspectives on certain things like the CG, myself included in some regards. There was a moment with Unit 01 rushing with it's arms behind it's back that looked a littl...

Re: CG and Rebuild

Going to edit original post, thought I might have worded a bit strangely so allow me to change that. My point was moreso to start a discussion as to if given the choice, would fans prefer 2D animation or high-quality CG and it comes off more as me saying "all CG bad", so sorry for that. Th...

CG and Rebuild

Over time, it's essentially become a consensus that CG in anime is out-of-place, clunky and for the most part to be dismissed entirely for the sake of enjoying the whole product. However, with anime in the last few years such as "Land of the Lustrous" and "SSSS Gridman" becoming ...

Re: What are aspects you actually like about Shikinami compared to Soryu as a character?

It was mainly the new way in which she presented herself in regards to other people and piloting the Eva. It's not necessarily something I favour her over Soryu for, but like the rest of the Rebuild movies, it's an interesting new direction for the Asuka character.
