I was wondering why the image quality of EoE is subpar compared to the episodes? And is the new blu ray supposed te be remastered?

I was 13 but It's relevant beacause I've watched NGE for the first time when I was 23 in 2017 and the Rebuilds in 2018.

I hope that putting this on Netflix doesn't bastardize the name of Evangelion more than it already is, being an object of popular culture. Having Netflix as a publisher can repel some cinephiles. I know it's stupid, but it was the case for me... I was almost serious about Mubi earlier.

It's like a cinephile version of Netflix, every movie on this site gains extra hispter cred.

I don't like it, there's too much empasis on the movement rather that the subtlety. for example the cinematography in episode 4 is one of the best of the series and there's nothing like that in the rebuilds. Even the action sequences in EoE are way more subtle, for me the scene with Bach Air II feel...

All the things that I like about Evangelion are gone in these films, like the direction, the tension that builds up, the cinematography, the sometimes slow pacing, the experimental side, the dive into the psyche of the characters. And I don't like modern digital animation.
