Re: Netflix Release General Discussion
This may have been brought up before, but isn't it peculiar that given the much-publicized absence of FMTTM from the credits, a diegetic instrumental arrangement of it plays over Misato/Kaji's conversation concerning the Marduk Institute in ep. 17? I suppose that the lack of lyrics is what made this...

Re: The Sandbox - Formulating an Analysis
It's gratifying to see someone else bring this scene up. It is one of my favorite parts of EoE (and I have a lot of favorite parts). I would largely agree with your synopsis of the wiki's take, and concur that 1) the woman is a symbolic representation of motherhood (and thus linked to, but not of on...

Alfonso Cuaron would be a good choice, I think.

Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)
It's very reminiscent to Pablo Picasos Guernica. A true portrayal of Asukas suffering and horror. http://www.museoreinasofia.es/sites/default/files/styles/foto_horizontal_wide/public/obras/DE00050_0.jpg?itok=fNaBP-d7 Also reminds me of Dorothea Tanning's oeuvre, probably due to the combination of s...

Re: Dreams about Evangelion...
Had a long and complicated one last night, of which only the scene prior to waking I recall. I may have been Rei; the distinction between us was not clear, which is fitting now that I think about it inasmuch the event in question occurred as part of Instrumentality. Anyways, I/Rei was being addresse...

Re: Ayanami and Autism
But we still fuck up sometimes... especially when growing up adds a whole new layer to interactions with the people you’re attracted to. Yes, that we do. Very much. I agree that it would be premature to diagnose Rei with autism. She was almost certainly not intended as such: however, her silence an...

Re: What parts of yourself do you see in Evangelion's characters?
Like everyone in the same show, I think I fear being alone more than anything else. Same here. To be more precise, however: Like Asuka, I am crushed by failure, and hardly ever rebound from it. Like Rei, I am self-abnegating, interpersonally awkward, and quiet. (Although she takes these characteris...

Re: How do You Respond to People Saying Eva is Pretentious?
My response would be something to this effect: "Pretentious? No, but its reach often exceeds its grasp. This is a flaw, but it does not necessarily equate to 'pretension'." To elaborate: "pretentious" is defined by Wiktionary as "marked by an unwarranted claim to importance ...

Re: Dreams about Evangelion...
I have had two to my memory, both quite vivid. One involved a blue-armored Eva with a pair of prehensile, multi-plated appendages attached to the back of its head (rather like braids); after it consumed an Angel's S2 engine, these coiled up above its head, forming a glowing azure halo due to an ener...

Most of the things I want are already been said here but still: - Some sequence in the desert. I don't want them right at the start, they could be flashback or dream sequences. There's no need to have them actually talking, especially Shinji, but they can play a lot with eye contact, tone, imagery....

Re: Who is the EVA character you feel most sorry for?
Yeah they leave his past a mystery but based off what he says, his reputation and just the way he looks in his past scenes, he came off to me as a very damaged person. Like I imagine the love he felt for Yui must've been like nothing he's ever experienced before and for it to effect him so dramatic...

Re: How did you first get into Evangelion?
I developed an interest as a direct result of my fanatical interest in "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" (manga more so than film). Upon learning that Anno was a protege of Miyazaki Hayao (and that there are some small Easter-egg references in NGE to the manga: indeed, Anno at one time ...

Thank you all for the recommendations. Archive of our Own seems a sensible option, all things considered; and I certainly would not have become aware of it without your help.

Recommendations on where to post NGE fan-fictions
Greetings, all. I just discovered this forum last Christmas (had perused the wiki on occasion prior), and am thrilled to find a thriving and thoughtful community of fellow Evangelion fans. So, right to the point: where would you recommend publishing fan-fiction? I recently finished penning my third ...
