Do you think we could get a chat room ? I'd be intrested to talk with some people around here in real time.
There was an EVA Nerd here, but now he's gone.

That would be really cool. But if it came down to either a chat room or custom titles, I would go with the latter.
Awesomely Shitty
-"That purace has more badassu maddafaakas zan supermax spaceland."
-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

I remember that we tried some Eva Monkey meetups on AIM while Evangelion was running on Cartoon Network.
I'm not sure who hosts evageeks.org, but I know that my Dreamhost account can run a Jabber server. Or we could just get on IRC, Rizon, probably. But I've found that these work best when there's a pre-arranged meeting time; we don't have enough people (I'd guess) to keep it populated all the time. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, I like the IRC idea. I use that a lot. Good for real time fanwankery, too. Rizon seems like a fine choice server wise.
Also custom titles
Also custom titles
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

Mobile device or whatever. It's a habit I have calling them pagers since the fateful day Skytel (now known as RIM) gave me a working prototype of the very first 2-way pager, which I then proceeded to figure out a way to connect it to the internet, and I was able to view websites (VERY SLOWLY) on this rather large, 6 button, device with a 20 by 5 character dot matrix display (something like that). Since then, there was a slow progession from "things that are pagers" to "things that are pagers with lots of bells and whistles" to "things that are pagers with lots of bells and whistles and you can talk to people with it like a phone", but to me, they're all pagers, just turned up to 11.

Bumping in case people missed it.
I registered an unofficial EGF channel on irc.rizon.net: irc://irc.rizon.net/egf (dunno if that will work). Anyone is welcome to chat, shoot the shit, or whatever, no moderation, you can act like an idiot if you want.
If you've used IRC before, you can connect to irc.rizon.net and join the #egf channel.
If you've never used it before and don't want to try downloading a client, go to:
http://www.rizon.net/index.php?page=webchat
type: /nick <your> (where <your> is a case insensitive handle without spaces)
then type: /join #egf

No, because this way we don't have to follow stupid forum rules.
