Hi!
I wanted to share a little project I made:
This is a close replica of the OST used in the End of Evangelion.
The official soundtrack does not contain all tracks used in the movie, and the ones present are usually much longer that what appears on-screen.
Thus, I added the missing tracks according to the Wiki's music guide and edited some from the official OST to shorten them to in-movie size.

Tracks:
01- E-5 [HARBINGER OF TRAGEDY]- edited it down to size
02- E-1 [Spending Time in Preparation]- edited down to size
03- M-6 [Interference of Others]
04- M-6 [The End of Midsummer]
05- M-4 [Emergency Evacuation to Regression]- shortened to about 25s to match the scene
06- M-7B [False Regeneration]
07- E-13 [Substitute Invasion]
08- II Air [Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BWV 106]
09- M-3 [The Flow of Emptiness]- deleted first part to match the scene
10- THANATOS -IF I CAN'T BE YOURS
11- M-4 [Escape to the Beginning]
---Musunde hiraite [Close and Open] (Akishima Municipal Haishima Kindergarten)--- I could not locate any audio of the song as played in the movie.
12 A-4 [A Fragile Ego Border]+ A-4 [Honeymoon with Anxiety]- first part is shortened, and second variation (kept as in the OST) is spliced into the first track (they are played back to back in movie)
13 A-4 [Reliance Leading to Falsehood]- shortened to match scene
14- M-10 director's edit [Komm, süsser Tod]
15- Jesus bleibet meine Freude
16- M-9 [Expansion of Blockade]- shortens a bit of the ending to match the movie
17- A-4 [Opening of Dream]

I'm by no means an expert in audio editing, but I hope you will find this acceptable, especially if you are like me and prefer your movie soundtracks to sound exactly as they do in the movie.

First and foremost, I want to thank you for making this, I wouldn't have been inspired to edit the Death and Rebirth soundtrack to its movie version on my own otherwise. I have enjoyed your version for quite some time, though today I decided to revise it after rewatching EOE and noticing some differences compared to this edit. Therefore, by ear, I have edited down some parts of the soundtrack (It was almost perfect as is) to its (I hope) highest fidelity. It's not by any means perfect, but I tried my best lol. The surround sound edition of the EOE soundtrack has been reduced to its film edit. I can assure all that this version is much more accurate and a better listening experience than my previous work. Unfortunately, after a second listen of the EOE movie while making the surround sound version I realized that I made a few mistakes, which make the stereo version not as accurate. The surround sound edition can be found in the same link as the stereo in a folder. I also decided to cut down any tracks related to the LD version, as I wanted this to be exclusively a recreation of the theatrical release. Here is the tracklist with a few extra details of what changed:
Here is the link: https://mega.nz/folder/OYIWGKYK#ty-9cHBGSeQYccBIh37mPA

1- E-5 fast tempo, rhythm only [HARBINGER OF TRAGEDY] - Better splicing without the need for crossfade, I honestly don't know what the heck I did to achieve that clean of a cut.
2- E-1 rhythm only [Spending Time in Preparation] - Another clean splicing.
3- M-6 fast tempo, rhythm only [Interference of Others] - I never noticed before that this track begins much earlier than its album release, the ending part also sounds more natural thanks to better splicing.
4- M-6 fast tempo, modified version [The End of Midsummer] - Kept as original.
5- M-4 chorus only [Emergency Evacuation to Regression] - Spliced better, fade out at the end with some reverb to recreate the transition to EVA-02's awakening.
6- M-7B new mix [False Regeneration] - Kept as original.
7-E-13 rhythm only, modified version [Substitute Invasion] - Kept as original.
8- II Air [Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BWV. 1068] - Kept as original.
9- M-3 [The Passage of Emptiness] - I, somehow, was able to cut this track as before.
10- THANATOS -IF I CAN’T BE YOURS- Kept as original.
11- M-4 [Escape to the Beginning] - A proper fade out and cut like in the movie.
12- A-4 [Zeijaku na, Jiga Kyoukai - different version, ZAKAZAKA version, violin solo] [A Fragile Ego Border - Honeymoon with Anxiety - Reliance Leading to Falsehood] - Much better fade in and fade between each track, each cut has been done better, transitions properly.
13- M-10 director's edit [Komm, süsser Tod / Come Sweet Death (Director's Edit. Version)] - Kept as original.
14- Jesus bleibet meine Freude [Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben BWV. 147] / Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring - This was the track that caused the most hassle and also the one with not as great of splicing work since this track is only played for half its runtime. Two cuts and crossfade. (Not my favorite, but I think it at least sounds decent)
15- M-9 modified version [Expansion of Blockade] - Cut down a small part towards the end of the song that is not played in the film, which crossfades to the ending portion seamlessly.
16- A-4 piano, choice version [Opening of Dream] - Kept as original.

Update: Removal of the stereo version, the surround sound edition is the better edited version anyways.

Hello EvaGeeks,
It's been a while since I've been here, but I'm back in business. First I'd like to apologize to those who downloaded my previous film edit soundtracks as they weren't as advertised (I'm talking mainly to the 5.1 edit soundtrack) as mp3 files cannot output multichannel audio, only stereo. This was due to ignorance and lack of knowledge on part on wanting to use mp3 files instead of other more modern solutions. Fortunately after doing a quick check with Itunes I was able to upload multichannel audio using aac files as they are capable of doing so without the limitations of mp3, plus much better quality of sound. This has resulted in my restarting this project from scratch and redoing the whole soundtrack from the ground up using flac files as the input and the aac files as the output for the purpose of storage and my own preference. With this it can be officially said that THIS is THE END OF EVANGELION 5.1 Soundtrack Film Edit: https://mega.nz/folder/OYIWGKYK#ty-9cHBGSeQYccBIh37mPA . I also have taken the liberty of adding a few sound effects here and there for more immersion and transitions between some tracks (I'll explain more a bit further down. And I also was able to find the original recording of Musunde hiraite [Close and Open] (Akishima Municipal Haishima Kindergarten) that was used in the movie, so all the tracks used are there as well as how they were used; this is the link where I found the full song along with some extra footage from the series and movie: https://archive.org/details/neon-genesi ... e+Take.mkv

Tracklist for the Soundtrack:
1- E-5 fast tempo, rhythm only [HARBINGER OF TRAGEDY] - Re-edited with an intro (scene where SEELE attempts to hack the MAGI).
2- E-1 rhythm only [Spending Time in Preparation] - No changes.
3- M-6 fast tempo, rhythm only [Interference of Others] - M-6 fast tempo, modified version [The End of Midsummer] - These two are now a single track with a transition in between (scene where Rei is in the LCL tank and EVA 02 being launched).
4- M-4 chorus only [Emergency Evacuation to Regression] - M-7B new mix [False Regeneration] - These two are also a single track now with a transition between them (scene where EVA 02 activates)
5- E-13 rhythm only, modified version [Substitute Invasion] - No changes, with an outro (scene of the explosion that kills Misato and the elevator sounds).
6- II Air [Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, BWV 106] - No changes
7- M-3 [The Flow of Emptiness] - This version uses the second part of the song since it is the one used in the scene, also features an outro (scene of Asuka's death by the spears).
8- THANATOS -IF I CAN'T BE YOURS- -No changes
9- M-4 [Escape to the Beginning] - Musunde hiraite [Close and Open] (Akishima Municipal Haishima Kindergarten) - Transition between the tracks (water droplet that transitions to the park, sandbox, sandcastle scene) and Musunde hiraite has been edited with a AM Radio filter to fit the movie version.
10- A-4 [Zeijaku na, Jiga Kyoukai - different version, ZAKAZAKA version, violin solo] [A Fragile Ego Border - Honeymoon with Anxiety - Reliance Leading to Falsehood] - No changes besides better transitions between the tracks and an outro (scene where Shinji chokes Asuka).
11- M-10 director's edit [Komm, süsser Tod/Come Sweet Death (Director's Edit. Version)] - No changes besides some voices that I added from the KIDA-155/Single Version (the one in Refrain of Evangelion) of Komm Susser Tod to mimic/represent instrumentality.
12- Jesus bleibet meine Freude [Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben BWV. 147]/Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring - Re-edited as the old version has awful cutting.
13- M-9 modified version [Expansion of Blockade] - A-4 piano, choice version [Opening of Dream] - These two are now a single track, starts with an intro (scene where Lilith's/Naked Rei's neck is slashed), a transition (another water droplet that appears before Yui and Shinji talk), and finally an outro (Sound of the sea of LCL at the end of the movie to represent the last scene).
14- A-4 piano, choice version [Opening of Dream] - MOTHER IS THE FIRST OTHER (A-10) [Bonus Track] - This is now a single track as they are both from the Japanese and English theatrical trailers for the movie so I have decided to put them together, these are the only tracks (besides Musunde hiraite) that are in stereo as there is no 5.1 version of them, the rest are in 5.1 surround).

PS: I hope this is the final time I re-edit this soundtrack, which I'm almost a 100% sure it will be unless I decide to change formats to FLAC in the future (hopefully not, as I cannot distinguish between Lossless and Lossy anyways), but overall I'm extremely happy with the result and it is definitely the absolute best rendition that I have done or could ever do. Anyways, enjoy! :)

-Updated E-13 with a better outro and lyrics for M-4 & Musunde hiraite.

WOW!
Amazing work! I had long been considering adding some key sound effects to the music to further enhance it, so I'm glad to know I wasn't the only crazy one

I'll be listening to it more closely later, but the bits I've heard are great!

Thanks! Yeah I got inspired by someone who did their own version using sound effects, they posted it in archive.org but I don't remember the link for it. Since I was planning on redoing my own version due to changing audio codecs for an actual 5.1 surround track instead of stereo I decided "Why not add transitions with sound effects?". Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this version and I think I'm done with this for a long time. Though I still have Death to worry about, which is going to be a headache to do lol. But I can't say I'm not excited for it, its definitely going to be interesting.
