Evangelion Jo QuickBMS Script

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a fan translation of the PSP game Evangelion Jo and I’ve hit a wall with the game’s archive format.

Inside the game’s USRDIR folder, there’s a large .PKG file (NEVA.PKG)(not a system update .pkg, this is game-specific). I believe this .PKG contains most of the game’s actual files, including dialogue and scripts.

I’ve tried using QuickBMS with some general-purpose scripts, but no luck so far. The file seems to have a custom format — and I haven’t found a script specific to this game yet.

Would anyone be able to help:
• Write or point me to a QuickBMS script that works with Evangelion Jo’s .PKG file?
• Or explain the file structure if it’s known?
• Ideally, I’d also love to repack the .PKG afterward, so any repacking guidance would be hugely appreciated too.

I can provide a sample .PKG file if needed, or a hex dump of the header.

Thanks in advance! Any help would be amazing — this is my first fan translation project and I’d love to preserve and share the English patch properly. If anyone wants to collaborate with me any help is big. Thank you!

If i'm not mistaken isn't there already a translation project going on? They probably know more than I do.

Different Game (Evangelion 2 for the PSP) and I’m working with Evangelion Jo for the psp.
