It's getting to be that time of year again, where we clear out abandoned zero-post accounts, many last active for only a few hours after sign-up. So, at the end of the month, accounts with no posts, and a last active date (last time visited while logged in) before 1-Jan-21 will get purged.

The delay is to give lurkers time to check in, especially those who have been waiting for the new movie to drop.

Are there plans for a 2023 purge or will they just be rolled forward to 2024? Thank you.

I can't remember if I did one this year, or if I was being distracted at the time. I intend it to be an annual thing.

Oh, I actually paid attention to that point; I just didn't care that ordinary users couldn't see it, because I was talking directly to Mr. Tines.

In any case, if this thread wasn't soft deleted, users would not be able to view it anyway, since this thread was moved to a restricted area.

As usual, at the end of the month, dormant accounts - ones with no posts, and a last active date (last time visited while logged in) before the start of last year (i.e. 1-Jan-23 this year) will get purged.

And done for this year.

Time having passed without my realising, the annual Spring clean, for users with zero posts and inactive since before 1st Jan 2024 will happen at the start of May this year.
