I was looking through an archive of EVA episodes and movies when I came across one called "The Human Rape Project (Bandits)." I decided to watch it, and I expected nothing unusal at all - I thought that maybe they used "rape" as a literary device. Nope, it was none of that.

This was a straight up porn video that looked like it had been made by Gainax themselves.

I need answers. I couldn't find anything about it online - the only potential one I found was a review on this archive that speculated the Human Rape Project was "the porn video that was added in error to some of the End of Evangelion DVD releases." I need to know its origins, because I refuse to believe that video could have been made by the creators themselves.

That infamous vid wasn't made by Gainax, though Gainax members did work on "Evangelibon", a porn doujin.

Gainax did not have the means to create something like this at the time even if they wanted to. If anyone with official connections to Eva were behind this, it most likely would have been employees of Tatsunoko or one of the other studios the animation was outsourced to.
