A whole whopping 4 years later, here's the pre-release drafts of the first two chapters of Evangelion - Project Dioscuri for review, comment, or derisive mockery as the reader finds appropriate. Chapter 3 is mostly finished, hopefully it won't be as long coming. Ch 1-3 cover Ep 5-6 of the original TV series - Ep 1-4 can be taken as occurring pretty much exactly as in canon minus Shinji being the Fourth Child not the Third.

The basic premise is that GEHIRN/NERV managed to shake loose enough funds from SEELE to assemble two Production Model Evangelions in the early 2000s - Asuka's EVA-02 and EVA-03. After the debacles of the contact experiments with EVA-01 and EVA-02 SEELE is done with feeding highly valuable researchers into their home-grown cybernetic demigods, but one of the researchers at the Nevada facility has proposed an alternative plan...

On a technical note, "spoken words in italics" is speech in a "foreign" language - in most cases this is English but some German might make its way in once Asuka finally arrives on the scene.
