Huh, that's weird, because during that same scene we see the light in the infectee's eyes at some points. Was it just an idea they had for the immediate reveal of Things?

I can't' say as I know for sure, but I think it refers only to when they're changing.

SPOILER: Show
Though, Childs eyes are utterly dark in that frame when they are sitting together in the snow at the end, pointing to the fact that he could well be a Thing. Also, people have debated as to if MacReady's bottle is really full of alcohol and might in fact be petrol which he's kept back on purpose to poison the thing if it's in human form. As the thing when take on humans form can imitate their body faults like with Norris as his heart condition.

Might be less

to poison with petrol, and more to see if the Thing just takes a swig without realizing it's petrol, which means blasting time. Then again, considering just how perfect the imitation seems to be, if Childs was a Thing he'd still taste the difference. Personally I think both are human at the end- if Childs was a Thing he'd just attack Mac, rather than risk Mac killing him before he could freeze.

I would love to have a confirmation from the filmmakers on the Child's issue, as it's been raging on for decades.

SPOILER: Show
In the sequel comics it says that Child's in the thing, but I don't know if these are considered true canon, unlike The Fly 2 whose follow-up comic is considered true canon even thought it's utterly crazy plot wise. Whereas the things comics pick up where the films left off and, outside a few insane moments, are much more down to earth.

Though in the sequel game, Carpenter confirmed he was not assimilated and died in the snow, this is why a modern interview with retrospect might be helpful, as there are three colliding view points on this the dark eyes might be a yes, the comic says a full on yes, but the game says no.

I wouldn't. The ambiguity is the intent. Getting an answer one way or another would kill the beauty of it.

It's decent, I personally enjoyed all 3 movies more.

Don't remember the ending, but I recall the last 3rd of the book feeling extremely rushed.

Was really well received, I played a tiny bit of it with my cousin years ago.

Carpenter considers the game to be the Canon sequel apparently. I honestly wish Blumhouse was adapting the game to film instead of the currently planned adaption of the original manuscript for the novel.

Blumhouse is making a movie of Who Goes There? I don't know how the hell they think they're gonna be able to hold a candle to the 1982 film, considering how much of an improvement on the source material that film is.

Carpenter's "The Thing" is an all time fave....never gets old and doesn't need CGI to look fabulously gross...(lots of animal organs and such found their way into that nasty pile of goop. The pre-quel was ok...the problem being you already knew how it was going to play out...I can't imagine trying to do a remake to surpass the '82 film.

As for Ash and the Evil dead....love those too, got a bit too campy in the 3rd one...but the 2nd movie of the original trilogy was the sweet spot

Just my opinion but I always preferred the first one of the original Ash trilogy and when I first started watching such film, I predicted Scotty to be the final survivor instead of Ash due to the fact that before he chickened out, he was kicking ass and chopping body parts before Ash grew a pair.

I think the first one was a much more serious attempt at being scary and creepy and it succeeded....(the tree scene with the girl makes me terribly uncomfortable) It was only missing the dosage of crass and or campy humor that tends to get me involved. Sort of like "Phantasm".....it doesn't have to make sense...

Recently watched Train to Busan and it was stupendous. If this is what we can expect from modern era zombie flicks then I say we're headed in the right direction.

I'm familiar with that movie pretty much exclusively through obscure Japanese meme edits, but I will say that the underlying movie looks damn solid even to someone like me who is generally fairly bored by zombie anything

For almost a week straight, I have been enjoying repeating my favorite 1990s slasher, I Know What You Did Last Summer. Jennifer Love Hewitt does a great job as the lead as well as Sarah Michelle Gellar as Hewitt's best friend. Ryan Phillippe plays the part of a douchebag so effectively that you can't help but cheer when the inevitable end happens to him. Now if there was a performance I could nitpick, it would have to be Freddie Prinze Jr. coupled by him looking like a coward for the most part until Hewitt is being chased around by the killer in the boat. Serves as a lesson that he very earned that success later leading teen romances.

Yeah honestly I like the 2 original IKWYDLSs slightly more than than the Scream series that inspired them. Hell even the 3rd film I'll always know... was shockingly decent for a straight to dvd sequel with zero original cast returning.

For me...
I know = Great
I still know = Very Good to Great
I'll aways know = Ok to Decent
Scream = Good to Very Good (need to re-watch)
Scream 2 = Very Good
Scream 3 = Good
Scream 4 = Very Good
Urban Legend = Very Good
Urban Legend 2 = Weak (remember very little)

For a while I have been binge watching Spiral From the Book of Saw and I have to say it really isn't that bad, so fucking what about so called hardcore fans complaining about not enough gore? Also, I developed this theory about the killer's connection with the original Jigsaw in that Schenk is really Billy Emmerson and Billy is the name of the creepy doll with the laugh then that might exposed some more flashbacks on if the two ever met.

Well...I just finished Scream 2022 after a lot of bored attempts to keep interest on this P.O.S. and I loathe it, I abhor it, not to mention despise and detest it. The one original trio survivor is almost instantly offed just as soon as he took up the responsibility of protecting the latest crop of teens and the reveal of the killers is pretty much dull. I wouldn't recommend it even for use as a torture method.

I recently got on Blu-ray all the first two Evil Dead movies in one set, the collector’s edition of Army of Darkness, and all 3 seasons of Ash Vs. Evil Dead. The ending to Ash Vs. Evil Dead left me with more questions than answers. Also, I really hate that how every time Ash falls for a girl that he ends being forced to kill her. And in the TV series I hated how season 1 Ruby was evil, season 2 she’s now on Ash’s side, and then in season 3 she’s back to being evil again. I have a fan theory that there are actually 4 different timelines for the Evil Dead franchise. Timeline 1 is the theatrical ending of Army of Darkness, Timeline 2 is the events of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Timeline 3 is the director’s cut ending of Army of Darkness where Ash is trapped in a post apocalyptic future, and Timeline 4 which is my own creation is that Ash stayed behind in the year 1300, became king, and married Shelia. Apparently there’s a new Evil Dead video game coming out so I might pick that up for my Switch. Also, I’d love to meet Bruce Campbell at a convention someday.

Love the "Evil Dead" franchise although I didn't see the reboot movie. I too found the TV series a bit confusing, but it was still LOL funny. The sweet spot for me is Evil Dead 2. There isn't anything creepier, more disgusting, and funny at the same time!

I like the 2013 Evil Dead movie, even watched it in the theater. There was one scare that was truly amazing is that possessed Mia kind of floats into the screen from the darkness and proceeds to continue attacking.

I love from the slasher market the movie Valentine and from the paranormal also from the same year as the former Thirteen Ghosts. IDK why *maybe the Seth Rogen beef in Knocked Up* I think badly of Katherine Heigl but it seemed like she just came in one night to earn her check in the beginning cameo. And as for the chocolate candy that was planted with living maggots have got to be a clever trick since no way would this get past the censors if it was done in some other way. Of course we cannot talk about Valentine without ignoring the one and only Final Fantasy X video game character Yuna. Her Ruthie character definitely had the worst death since even I don't gel well with broken glass...
