This does NOT seem to be a movie project, but rathee a merch line.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."

It's hilarious that all of the media sites feel like they gotta hype a Cinematic Universe every time a merch cross over is announced. Disney has programmed these people well.
