I wouldn't be too surprised if it is :D

By the way, I'm not sure if it's been answered already, but how come 3.33 is coming to Prime and not the new 3.333?

Who knows? It could be that Khara wants to milk Blu-ray sales for that one. (It worked on me. -o-; )

I guess that could be the case -o-;

Also, any new info regarding the English dub casting?

Absolutely none. We’ve been told that we’ll discover that until the day the movie drops.

I completely forget that 3.333 is also coming to disc this month because of 3.0+1.01 lawl

I was wondering (altho most likely not the case) if the latter also arriving to Prime Japan early is to compensate its Blu-ray release date being shifted further, I know disc production and manufacturing activities are quite impacted by the constant emergency state in Japan. Violet Evergarden movie BD was delayed from August to October, which makes the gap between theatrical and home video a whopping 11 months.

Nothing, if it's the ADV cast, they are keeping this real close to their chest.

So are the movies gonna be free to watch on Prime?

Yeah, I believe all four will be included with Prime from the 13th.

Yes indeed. As long as you have a Prime subscription, you can watch all four.

Really hoping 3.0 will be the 3.333 version on Prime.

Very unlikely - they wouldn't expose it to being ripped before releasing the DVD which is coming out some weeks later.

If you are in the UK you do not need a prime account to watch prime videos, though need to check if this true for Italy/Germany/US and other countries.

Customers are able to purchase or rent a selection of titles from the Prime Video catalog, without needing an Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership. ... As soon as the order completes, purchases are available to view in Purchases & Rentals.

Saying this though, Amazon has a 30-day free trial same as Netflix so if there is something else you want to binge you could get it then just not renew the account.

True, but they're exposing 3.0+1.0 to being ripped before even announcing a physical release, so who knows.

There’s literally no way they’re NOT aware that 3.0+1.0 will be ripped and put on torrent sites within 10 minutes of its release in the first time zone. They probably just don’t care because whatever Amazon paid them for the exclusivity rights no doubt dwarves the movies’ potential global box office by tenfold.

It’s best not to think about it too hard and just chalk it up as one of those nonsensical inscrutable things Japanese businesses tend to do. People who were going to buy a new blu ray for minor inconsequential visual enhancements were gonna do it anyways regardless of whether or not they could torrent it. Same could be said for why they’re not just releasing 3.0+1.01 (or whatever it’s called) when a digital release makes it trivially easy to “patch” minor adjustments into the movie.

I think we'll get 3.333 because there's also the fact that using 3.33 instead of 3.333 would cause a pretty noticeable inconsistency of why Asuka and Mari's plugsuits are different in 3.0+1.0. It might've been something they could've gotten away with by just saying Mari got a new plugsuit because she was back with WILLE by 3.33's end, but there would be no explaining away Asuka's change. And I mean, why bother to try explaining away when they could go with more consistency instead?
I'm hoping for 3.333 personally, because I do like me some consistency, and I really want to see how the new plugsuits look in motion, rather than by seeing just screenshots.

All logic dictates that we SHOULD get 3.333. There’s literally no good reason not to. But in cases like this you can’t always expect the logical outcome.

The secrecy around this stuff is so weird. I don't see how it adds one dollar of profits to keep the dub cast and the versions of the films under wraps til release day.

Contracts are very specific about these details. Amazon most likely has signed the exclusive streaming rights for the 1.11, 2.22, 3.33 & 3.0+1.01 versions of the films only.
If they want 3.333 or the eventual 3.33+1.11 (or whatever it's called) versions for streaming thats a whole new contract, discussion & fee.
If Amazon wants the 3.333 version it all depends on if they feel it's worth it to them to pay several million more $ for that contract.

I don't see 3.333 coming to streaming anytime soon. Certainly not until the 4K Disc has been out in Japan. But in a year or more when distributors have contracts in place for physical disc releases of the Rebuilds (I imagine these will happen at some point, only thing is with Amazon I imagine that's now minimum a year or two off) I imagine that'll be 3.333.

As far as the dub cast is concerned, I just don't think Khara is interested in advertising any of the dubs and probably has it stipulated that Amazon use the Japanese version in promotional stuff like we've seen thus far.

As far as which version of Q we'll get, I don't think there's any real secret there it's just not something that's been mentioned yet. Obviously as fans we're interested in the most up to date and final version of the film, but in the grand scheme of things there's likely very little difference between 3.33 and 3.333, just as there's minimal difference between 3.0 and 3.33. I would guess the Amazon release will be of 3.333 since it's been around for a while at this point, but I suppose it depends on when the deal was struck and when Khara decided to do 3.333 at all. We'll find out whenever the placeholder for the film goes up.

Speaking of, the placeholder for 3.0+1.01 has been up for a while now but there's still no sign of ones for the other three movies. It's making me curious if the plan is still to have all four up on 8-13. I'm assuming that'll still be the case, but it's weird they're dragging their feet.

1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 all have English placeholder pages on several Amazon sites in different countries, but no release date info is given.

The VAs who may or may not be in the movie seem to be under an NDA, though, which is even weirder. If Amazon wants to announce it themselves, well, clock is ticking. I just want a Tweet! A Tweet from anybody! It's not too much to ask!
