Not 100% sure yet. I'm going through an online program for entry level certifications, and plan to look for jobs around my mom's house (as i still live there lol) and see where things go from there. My dad and several friends of mine have offered to let me stay with them if i find a job closer to them than where i am now. Ideally, i'd like to be the designated IT guy at a business instead of working for a firm, but a firm would be easier to start with, i think.

I cannot believe I joined here nearly a decade ago, Mon Aug 15, 2011 11:52 pm. Blows my mind thinking of what life was like when I was 26 yrs old. Had the whole world in my hands, and I was into some weird stuff. I was only active for a short time here, however I managed to make friends and still have some on steam, but haven't heard from them in a looooooong time. I'm an eternal lurker I suppose.

With evangelion wrapping up, I want to say that it played a significant part in my life, clearly it is a great anime, but it led me down paths of inquiry I would have never gone otherwise. Admittedly, I am ready for it to finish up.

Thank you for the creators of the site, all the mods, and everyone else, new and old, here and gone. After I watch the final film you can bet I'll be lurking.

You may all have noticed the lack of grumpy-old-git-posting in recent times; it is now three months since my wife suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, something that I'm still dealing with, both administratively and emotionally. On-line activity is something that I cut down on hard to have time to breathe. Today is especially poignant -- this photo from our wedding reception, the only one I seem to have scanned from back then, was taken 40 years ago today:



We had just begun to consider how to celebrate our ruby wedding, and then, so close to the line, we were parted.

What has stirred me from my retreat was seeing on my timeline the announcement that the Commentary project -- a major reason for hanging around for so long -- was being given its own fitting send-off in the coming days, so I shall make this return in order to participate in that. Afterwards? Who knows?
