I think its more likely that the He-man gets teleported somewhere, and the gang have to find him for a couple of episodes, and Teela's old out fit is a possible flash back to whom she used to be and maybe her role is helping as she's been to Z place before and the other guys have not.
Frankly, I'm fine with Teela switching from the old over-the-top costume to something more generic, and the Teela-Audra team-up was fantastic and easily the strongest part of the show. Lena Headey as Evilyn was absolutely fantastic. Mark Hamill plays Skeletor like a toned-down Joker, but I'll give him a pass because he's Mark Freaking Hamill. Wish I could've heard more of Alan Oppenheimer (the original Skeletor!) It's also interesting to see Adam being so much skinnier than He-Man, it makes it much more believable that he could keep his identity as He-Man as a secret.
I have some issues with one of the things that He-Man and his father did and with the somewhat Diabolus Ex Machina nature of the ending, as well as the constant talk about magic and Eternia. It also felt like Evilyn went back to her old ways a little too easily (not happy unless she does a Zuko next season). MOTU felt far too messy and some of the plot twists felt a little too much like they'd come from Game of Thrones. I'm not condemning MOTU too hard because I really want to see where they take it in the next season, but there certainly are several things they could've done better in this season.
