The Anno meet-and-greet on the 11th does look like it could be the make-or-break point. And I won't be surprised to hear about another set of mini-posters being handed out to viewers in the final week of the theatrical run.

At this point the gap is so small that even if they don't achieve it this month, they will do a rerun in the future with whatever excuse they can come up with just to reach 10 billion.

Yeah, I think there's a chance they'll announce something for the film's last full weekend next week although it may be hard to do that with the film only having a handful of screens left. Words on the street seem to imply that seats for Sunday are selling really well and there's a chance that it might reach 9.9 billion by Sunday or Monday, this race against time will be very interesting to see for sure!

If there's fresh interest in Shin Eva, I can imagine a few more screens being allotted to meet demand over the last week.

None of the miniposters had Rei on it, right? A conspicuous absence.

If they announce a Rei one for the final week push, maybe that alone will bring it over the 10 bill.

I read somewhere that Kaworu and Mari's pamphlets were definitely gonna be the last ones. That said, I could see Khara printing new flyers just for the sake of reaching 10 billion. Maybe a mini-poster showcasing the entire cast? That would be cool. Frankly, all they have to do is put some characters on a piece of paper and people will buy it.
I wonder what they'll do with the leftovers from the existing mini-posters, though. Well, it's just paper after all. They will probably be incinerated.

One of the mini-posters actually featured Ayanami. That wasn't enough to drive a considerable amount of sales, though. I actually saw a lot of people choosing to frame Asuka's side over hers.

Oh wow you're right, somehow completely missed that one. I had scans of the Asuka vers. that was part of the pamphlet, so I never knew it had taken a reversible form.

But yeah, if there is a final push event I can't imagine it wouldn't have new swag/illustrations.

Are they still distributing Kaworu/Mari poster?
It seems funny that in yahoo auction I still see few Kaworu posters, but Mari seems to be dead atm.

It gives me a slight agony that these numbers never reach 10 billion.

A week ago the movie had like 350 million left to go and within a week they more than halved that!

The official Twitter account has been consistently reporting box office results every once in a week lately when they usually only did that for every 1 Billion Yen mark, I guess that proves to be quite effective in motivating the fans

Can't believe we're now in the film's last full week showing, time flies so fast...
