My mind just couldn't take Sakura into account for someone who'd yearn for Shinji in such a sense that's depicted here. Guess that's a thing too, which I've no problem with obviously, just saying.

Yes this literally happened to her. The Kaworu clones for the Dummy Plugs in the MP Evas wouldn't know much about Asuka than how Kaworu himself did when he used Kyoko/Unit 2 to get into Terminal Dogma to Lilith. For them at this moment when they fought Asuka, she was only a tasty cut of killable and metaphoricly fuckable meat that they played with her a bit around pretending that Asuka as a alpha can kill them. You know this whole alpha/beta stuff is outdated debunked science even for actual wolves, right?

The experimenters wanted to see how wolves form social structures and threw a bunch of unrelated wolves together, neglected that wolves don't normally meat up & form a hierarchy, but live in family groups.
So they were not observing natural behavior, but the exceptional situation of unrelated wolves in a crowded space.
Follow-up experiments have actually found zero evidence that particularly aggressive animals have more sucess mating or filling leadership roles.
In primates, it's typically the most sociable ape with the most friends who leads. (Still not exactly fair, but very different from agression wins)
In a lot of cases naive shallow interpretations of darwin's theory leave out the effect of group strategies.
In bees, only the queen mates, that doesn't mean the bees that get all the food, defend the nest etc. are useless. Basically in a social species, if you do anything to help the group, you are helping survival.
Obviously humans live in societies larger than family groups, but the means by which we do are largely human-specific & can't be extrapolated from wolves.
There's a part of an apes brain whose size almost directly correlates to the group size it lives in, and for humans that's about 150 - a clan, more or less.
Beyond that, we deal through abstractions & systems & social conventions, like "manners" or "money".
There's an interesting phenomenon in startups where the 150-person mark is actually a crucial make or brake moment. Before that it's possible for people to more or less know everyone, after that, you're gonna need departments, chains of command, structures that are often but not always hierarchical.

That said, you can probably draw a parallel from the wolf experiment to why classrooms are so horrible: You put unrelated students who aren't cousins or siblings or neighbors,in a strictly regulated environment where they can't decide the terms of their socializing.
In playgrounds or neighborhoods they will form "tribes" but in a classroom they can't escape each other. And kids are much closer to their mammalian instincts than more "programmed" teens or adults. So it often devolves into a tyranny battle won by the worst bullies if the teachers fail to impose & enforce abstraction-rules.

Got it Kendrix. This form of expressing strenght isn't the best way to make others to acknowledge someone. I wouldn't force that on others too. I just am among others whether at work or when I get out doing something for myself while I just behave tame enough. I can't risk it to impulsively get into trouble to show that I'm not weak to withstand danger.
