What I said there was just a comment caused by some internal concerns with the NTE, which are not worth talking about. I was stupid for not clarifying my position. That's why I apologize.

I actually know how problematic Okada is, and I completely agree that what he says is illogical. I just wanted to say the Japanese chess analogy is interesting IMO, and I'm aware that Fuyutsuki's intention was just to tell Shinji the truth about Yui, Rei and Gendo's plans. It's explicit in its dialogue.

Great job! Just a note. "A deadly disease", in Newtype 01/95, is "the sickness unto death", just like the Kierkegaard' essay mentioned in the title of one episode. Ps. I'm currently editing a thread (https://forum.evageeks.org/post/894135/Schizo-and-Parano-Evangelion-transcript-and-translation/#894135%20%20) about Shizo and Parano Evangelion. It would be great to see them finally translated here. ^_^
"In order to make myself recognized by the Other, I must risk my own life. To risk one's life, in fact, is to reveal oneself as not-bound to the objective form or to any determined existence — as not-bound to life" (Jean-Paul Sartre, Being and Nothingness)
"Despair is a Sickness in the Spirit, in the Self, and So It May Assume a Triple Form: in Despair at Not Being Conscious of Having a Self (Despair Improperly So Called); in Despair at Not Willing to Be Oneself; in Despair at Willing to Be Oneself" (Kierkegaard, The Sickness Unto Death)
"As one's ignorance disappears when he gains knowledge, and as darkness disappears when light appears, so also incompleteness is eliminated by completeness" (The Gospel of Truth)

Thanks, man! BTW, I left you those measly 2 dollars on buymeacoffee the other day. For whatever reason my name didn't get through, hehe. Take a look at the list I put together, if you're interested.

Yeah Riki, as I said in the other thread, your work is much, much appreciated. Having good translators is always a blessing.

Let me share my latest translation.
Now I'm working on the translation for the documentary TV program about Anno that was broadcast on March 22, 2021.
I divided the video into some parts (the whole length of the video is 75 mins).

This is part1 that I've finished.
Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks again, Rikki! I have to ask you if you're okay with me putting your translation on the wiki, not just the 3.0+1.0 ones. Obviously I'd link to your sites.

Also, are you translating the documentary for AnnoCinema? I saw he had a gofundme for it.

Sim! Of course. Thank you, Felipe.

I've translated a few of his videos in the past, but for this documentary he seems to have hired a different translator. I saw the gofundme too. I'm glad to see that he reached his target amount.

thx everyone

The weirdest tidbit must be that one where Anno speculates that Misato's ideal match might actually be Shinji ("we'll only know in 10 years or so")
No one even mentions poor Hyuuga lol
Alas poor Kaworu, I knew him well...

Thanks Riki! I have a couple of questions regarding some of the sentences. I'll put those in spoiler tags for those who haven't read your translation.

SPOILER: Show
"She said that she built up the role by taking clues from what Hideaki Anno had said to her during the recording." Is the word translated here as "clues" originally meant to be "hints"? I'm slightly confused about this sentence, because although the rest of the article is clear that Anno did not tell Sakamoto everything about Mari, I'm not clear if Sakamoto said she was meant to interpret Anno's "mumbled things in a mysterious voice"? Could you clarify that or is the original sentence unusual in itself?

"When Sakamoto hesitated to reveal his interaction with director Anno, Mitsuishi, who played the role of Misato Katsuragi, pushed him back, saying, "Don't worry, Anno will tell you that it's okay to say anything." " - It looks like you mistakenly used "he/him" instead of "she/her" since it looks like it should be referring to Sakamoto and not Anno.

Thank you for your feedback, UrsusArctos!

Here's my answer.
SPOILER: Show
This is because simply I made mistakes those two parts. I'm still learning English.
So your feedback is so helpful for me to see where I made a mistake.

- "clues" & "hints"
I didn't understand the differences well.

clue
a sign or some information that helps you to find the answer to a problem, question, or mystery:

hint
something that you say or do that shows what you think or want, usually in a way that is not direct:

- him & her
This is a mistake that was clearly caused by my lack of attention.

The two parts you pointed out have been corrected and updated.
Thanks for letting me know!
